I'd really like to have a sunroof in my car. But of course, it would have to be installed by a qualified installer and have a leak-free guarentee. Does anyone here have an aftermarket sunroof? What kind (pop-up, sliding, etc.) How much did it cost?
Here are some things I've thought I'd like: -Qualified Installer/Leak-free guarentee (of course) -Can't be the kind that slides into the headliner (I can't afford to lose headroom) -Pop-up would probably be the best route for me, but I'd get the kind that slides up on top the roof if I could get it for the right price. -Are there any aftermarket sunroofs like the 3000GT sunroof? It is basically the whole size of the roof and just tilts when its on the car, or you can take it out and store it in the trunk. Thanks for the help! -------------------- |

all im saying to you, if u get an after market sunroof, order 2 extra gaskets for the model when u buy it. I had a hudge problem with my sunroof, i have an ASC slideable sunroof and the original owner of my celica never opened it fully, only proped it up for venting..and because he did this, the gasket got warped and my sunroof leaked horribly..like i would have a small swimming pool around the sunroof and it would spill alot. I had to spend about 5 hours with a big tube of RTV gasket maker and a razor knife. it sucked..try and aviod what happened to me

THe 3000gt style you said about is more like a T-top..
As far as a location.. not really sure who does stuff like that. Try yellow pages for auto customization... -------------------- If anyone needs interior stuff, etc, I'm parting whats left of my celi out. Just ask.

It's like a T-top in the way that its a removable glass panel, but there is a full frame around the roof and no center brace so i guess its more like a sunroof. Kinda hard to explain lol.
Here is what it looks like, but that is a carbon fiber replacement, it's lighter than the glass. But basically I'd like to go as BIG as my car will fit (and how much I can afford). I'll try the yellow pages, but they have to be qualifed. Thanks! -------------------- |

the guy that will be making my t-top knows people that are in california that do custom glass and gaskets. he says that they are nationally know and are one of the people that do custom auto glass. other than that you will still need a good installer, but really, all you will probably need is the best body-worker you know of to do the work. like what valo says...get a good gasket and have other gaskets on hand because after market sunroofs/t-tops/targa tops will not be like stock ones.

Whoa, you're getting custom t-tops? That's awesome, I love t-tops. Need pics when you're done.
