> Anyone have this problem with Springs?

All of my Springs are on, and they don't get fully to their drop height until they wear in, well my driver side is all the way down, but the passenger side is still pretty high. WTF!@! Any ideas? Also when I hit bumps in the road or turn, the rear sounds like its popping or rubbing really badly. On top of all that, would these cause something to go wrong with my steering? My steering squeeks like hell now when I try to turn.

i had somewhat similiar problem, you have to make sure that your fit and tightened the springs in their housings correctly, also lowering your celica makes the rear sway bars deform and clank up on the underside of the body. Youll have to bend these or get new sway bars.

And I don't think it's your steering components that are creaking when you turn. I think it's your front springs moving around a little bit, because mine do it too.

Is that true about the sway bars? Ive never heard anyone say anything about that before.......that would suck to have to buy all new ones, or to bend them out of shape. Would a car with like a 1.5"-1.7" drop have that issue, or not??

Yeah, never heard that about the sways, I've got the 1" drop, now I'm paranoid, Guess I'll have to save for new sways. Anyway, I did notice a strange noise after about a month on my new springs(Eibach pro-kit) and slight rubbing sound in the rear pass. fender. only at higher speeds though, around 65mph, when changing lanes? Anyone?

well i know the sound when you turn is the the springs not being in correctly, I had a problem with clanking when i went over bumps, I thought the underside was rubbing agaisnt the sway bars, shrugs, it couldve been the springs in improperly, because i dont really have the problem anymore.

you won't have any swaybar problems unless you have coilovers. all the springs drop 1.5" or less.

jason, i bet the install is messed up somehow. a mechanic telling you that "the springs need to wear in" is BS. if that's what he said, he's probably just trying to cover up a shoddy install job.

my 1.5 in drop makes a slight noise in the rear but not in the front and it dosn't seem to afect the steering in any way. I agree the springs probably didn't sit in the houseing right

okay, I just checked out the celica.net 6th gen room on this problem. Yes I was not crazy, The sound that you hear clanking could be your sway bars rubbing agaisnt your car. you can check this out by boucing the suspected front or rear of your car to see if you get clanking sounds.

Well I must have hit a bump that knocked my last spring into place, they all look even now, yay!

Still, with a 1.75" drop, my car still sits pretty high, i'm still kind of unhappy with the drop results, I wanted something a bit lower, as there is still like 3 inches from the ground or so. The rear noise is fine, i'm not worried about that. Soon after, my alternator belt kept getting really screwed up, the bolt popped up twice in 2 days somehow and made some crazy-ass squeeking noises, so me and a bunch of friends installed the bolts into the mount underneath and made that thing tight as hell. I hope all my problems after my lowering are done, they are beginning to piss me off! And I wasted all my money on projectors and CF hood, so I have no money if something else fails!
