depends on what you mean by "work". It will "work", as in bolt on to the engine. Will it "work", as in direct bolt-on and go... probably not. Might need some minor modifications done to the downpipe.

k, well, the guy never told me what year the header was for, he just said it was for any celica w/ a 5sfe engine. The header was on for 10 days, i cant believe that no body got it in that time, so i bought it

looks nice man. going to have to get some exhaust work done though with that. Looks like a good choice too if you want twin exhaust pipes.

ok, i was askin around on toyotaownersclub.com and they said i'd need a heatshield because toyota engine bays are hot enough, but i see a lot of people on here leave they're heatshields off, is it ok if i leave mine off? will it get too hot?

Heh... if you say so... =P

I'm guessing it came with no downpipe? That's a very nice lookin tri-Y design. Reminds me of a Doug Thorley Header for the ole 22R's...

could someone try to answer my previous question about whether i would need some sort of heat wrap or heat protectant so my header doesnt heat up my engine bay?

No you won't. If turbo guys are ok... a header isn't gonna do much.

about the heat shield thing youll be fine nothing bad will happen. but if you get a cheap paint job like i unfortunatly found out the heat from the header will discolor the hood. but thats only if you have a cheap paint job.

anyone know if this downpipe would fit my header or is the 3sgte one a way different path than the 5sfe downpipe path? Also, would it restrict the peformance gains of the header if i didnt get one?

What downpipe is that? I'm not seeing a pic or a link in your post.

However, you will need a downpipe, or else your header won't have a connection to the front pipe of your exhaust. That downpipe will also have to be a 2-1 design, since you've only got the first half of a tri-Y (aka 4-2-1) header.

That's probably why it lasted so long on E-bay. Custom fabricating a single pipe is easy and cheap. A 2-1 flanged pipe is rather more difficult.

I'm guessing that's a stock piece from a 3SGE engined Celica.

dude, go to www.howstuffworks.com and learn what your talking about here,
your really just running yourself in circles because you dont know anything about what your doing.
that 3s downpipe that you linked to is just gonna get you super flamed.
that has NOTHING to do with the 5s, or will it fit on a stock 5s in any way.
you have a header. you need a 2 to 1 collector b-pipe basicly.
