I had to buy new tires last week because my alignment and camber is so off, that it wore my tires in 4 months. I bought 215/40R/17W Yokohama Avid H4S. I also bought a camber kit for both the front and rear suspension from JCW.

I went to Tires Plus and asked them about aligning my car. I asked them if it was possible for them to get my lowered car up on the rack to get it aligned. The guy told me that they could align it, but it would be a waste of time and money because since my car is lowered, the camber wouldn't be adjusted since the specs are for OEM settings.

Is this true, or do they just not want to do this for me? I've had bad service with them before, so I wouldn't be surprised if they don't want to do this. I can't possibly believe that every car that is lowered runs through tires in 4 months.

I also just recieved the camber kits. Does anyone know how to install these? They didn't come with any type of installation instructions..

Any help/advice will be greatly appreciated.

From looking at your pictures it doesnt seem that your car is THAT much lower than sportlines or s-tech's. You probably dont even need that camber kit. Just take your car into Sears and tell them to align it. Dont say nothing about it being lowered or anything. If they tell you they cant get it into spec THEN give them the camber kit and see what they can do then. I have Tein S-tech's on my celica and had no problem getting it aligned (actually it was bearly off from stock).

#1) our celicas stock are camber adjustable so your fine
#2) you should ESPECIALLY get an alignment since you have a lowered car otherwise your looking at crappy handling and wearing out tires very fast

that guy just doesn't know what he's talking about imo go somewhere else that knows what they are doing

(edit might wanna return that kit from jcw and spend your money on something worth while)

Camber isn't adjustable, but you need negative camber to increase handling during hard turns. If you wanna dial in some positive consider the cusco pillow mounts.

Front has adjustable toe only...rear has both toe and camber adjustments.
