QUOTE(SlowCelica94 @ Jul 19, 2005 - 8:58 AM) simple mods can be done to a V8, and you'll see those gains as with a turbo car. To be truthful, depending on the turbo setup and the V8, you usually see better gains from a V8 then a turboed car. yea, but everything on a z06 is pretty close to perfect performance wise. full exhaust nets some more power, but the main effect is a reduction in weight and better sound. those z06 guys are high rollers, they buy superchargers, aftermarket heads, and all kinds of cams like average teens buy intakes and strut tower bars the little stuff helps, but if i had a z06, i wouldnt waste my time and money, i would save up for a TT kit. -------------------- 1994 Celica GT4 WRC Edition

Actually, there's mounds of room for improvement in the C5 ZO6. The as cast LS6 heads in that car are great as installed, but will blow your mind when fully ported (talking at peak 320+ intake and 220+ exhaust CFM) as compare to the stock LS6 head being around 260/190 IIRC. The camshaft profile is just enough to give it a 405 flywheel HP rating, and is barely in the 2-teens duration with just a little over .500 lift. Pop in a 230's Intake and 240's Exhaust duration cam with around .600 lift and a set of ported heads and suddenly you find yourself making 500 REAR WHEEL horsepower. The exhaust is pretty optimized though, very little gains have been seen with the addition of aftermarket items. The LS6 is just a more well matched set of parts than the LS1 is, but there is tons of room for improvement. Now the C6 ZO6........THAT THING is damn near perfect. The heads in that car, AS INSTALLED, flow 360intake and 240exhaust CFM at peak. That's about as good as it's gonna get there. Not to mention titanium valves for weight savings........that thing is sex realized as a motor. -------------------- |

The LS7 is the shizzit, but if Lingenfelter turbos that thing, that would mean for probably $130,000 you could get a 900hp Vette from the factory, insert Homer Simpson drool here > aaauuuggghhhh 900hp, lol.

thats exactly what i said, the motor can definately make a lot more power, but it takes heads, cam, forced induction, etc. intake and exhaust wont cut it -------------------- 1994 Celica GT4 WRC Edition

A buddy of mine whom has a 03 ZO6 recently put a mild 224/220 .575 lift cam with a 112* LSA into his car and his RWHP moved from about 350/350 up to 405 RWHP and 415 RWTQ. If that's not a cheap way to horsepower I don't know what is. Now granted, he's limited in what he does from this point, meaning he can't really do more to see big gains without the heads, blower, turbo, or nitrous, but I'm just using it as an example of what a cam can do. -------------------- |

supra or RX7, the rotary powered engine is probably the easiest engine 2 work on ever, and the supra, well, its a supra, need I say more? but if i had to pick a supra i would choose one from here http://www.suprastore.com/suprasforsale.html

thats tough, toss up between supra and rx-7, always wish i had a supra (celicas the next best thing ) saw an rx-7 at bodyshop yesterday though and it was hot. supra wins though because im not a fan of the rotary engine sound.
