Did you add the bushings under the shifter?

i know your trying to do the right thing for your motor, but this is one of those times where you should just trust the guys who have had their swaps for a while and have done a ton of research into this.

Even with no spacers, it wouldn't hit the ebrake... the shifter arm would probably just hit the frame (problem I had with my TWM)

Are you sure it is installed correctly?

Show us a pic, please.

If anyone needs interior stuff, etc, I'm parting whats left of my celi out. Just ask.

no i didn't install the bushings because i couldn't figure out how to use them and still keep the metal ones that came with the quick shifter.

and even with them on they would still hit it

is there any difference between the gt and st e-brake
it does say for celica gt

i am going to to install the bushings again because it does scrape on the bottom a little bit. i try and get some pics

i think i may have figured out what may be wrong

as some of you know i am in the process of a 3sgte swap, well i didn't even think about the fact that i don't even have shift cables right now.

Most likely with the shift cables installed the will restrict the left and right motion of the shifter. in other words its probalby the shift cables that stop the shifter and not the plastic shifter assembly.

i will know for sure when i hget the swap done. if it still hits i'll just have to take off the e-brake handle until i can figure out whats wrong

The shifter is impossible to install without the shift cables. And, you absolutely must use either your OEM bushings or the TRD bushings. If you fail to put them in, the shifter will not work. Good luck.

The trow on my celica is very short. How can I identify if the previous owner has installed the TRD quick shift. My car is a Japanses import and I do not know it's history. Is ther a way to identify the TRD QS from the OEM one?

tbhe easiest way to tell is to see if the shaft has a curve in it, the oem has a big curve and the QS has a very very slight one
