Its an overpriced 3rd gen clip. There was no such thing as a 4th gen 3sgte in a MR2.

i know your trying to do the right thing for your motor, but this is one of those times where you should just trust the guys who have had their swaps for a while and have done a ton of research into this.

I assume you mean from a Caldina...not an MR2.

Toyota didn't change anything major in the 3sgte that the Caldina has. To me, its still considered a 3rd generation. If Toyota had added vvti, then it'd be a 4th generation 3sgte.

Why would you want vvti in a turbo application? Any variable valve timing system has too much over lap for forced induction. Adding VVTi would be a step in the wrong direction

The exhaust hosing for the turbo and the exhaust manifold is all one piece. The intake manifold is also different as it exits at a different angle. You obviously don't know what you're talking about.

EDIT: Forgot that it also has DLI with Coil On Plug, top feed injectors and completely different ECU compared to the generations before.

I didn't say I wanted it. Just said that would be considered a 4th generation 3sgte. Besides that though. A lot of turbo motors are now equiped with some form of variable valve timing. Like the new 4g63's in the EVO's. The Corolla used for rally had a vvt turboed 3sge. Just some examples.

I just did. Exhaust hosing and intake manifold. Also, I just edited my post while you were quoting me because I had forgotten about the DLI, COP, Top feed injectors, and Completely different ECU.

Thats great. I'm learning now huh?
Its still just a 3rd generation 3sgte to me.

What gives it the title of a 4th generation 3sgte? Do those changes make it so much better than the previous?

Are you kidding me?!?!?! I just told you why it has the title of 4th generation. All other generations were defined by ECU portability. Example: AFM based 2nd gen ECU... will not work with a MAP based 3rd gen motor and vice versa.

Alright dude, keep your nuts in place. I was wrong ok?!

Its always easier to learn something when you say stupid things. Cause then some know it all comes around and explains it in simplier terms. Some people are just better at things than others.

I was just trying to prevent the spread of incorrect information. I realised that you had no idea what you were talking about and was frustrated when you questioned the facts I had already provided you.

When people say things with such certainty, like you did, others that are trying to learn and research can't get the correct facts because of contradicting information. If you don't know something, don't make assumptions. It'll be better for everyone if only the people that know for a fact answer the questions. It would have been better for you to ask what the differences were, instead of giving false information just to be corrected.

Well see. Thats how I learned my informations. From people. Just people. I don't mind being incorrected. Engines aren't my strong points. So what I read around the forums is what I know. Doesn't bother me.

But see. Theres so many people who don't share valueable information though. Which is why bad information gets spread around. I didn't do nothing wrong. Just being human.
