I would recommend at least a .63 A/R if you went with a 46 trim in a 2.2. The .63 trim spools at 3100 in a 2.0 liter so it would be even better in 2.2. I prefer a turbo that is water cooled for longevity. I also like the dual BB setup for all the abuse the thrust bearing takes. My recommendation for you would be the GT3071R with the .63 A/R. Its more expensive, but it rocks.

BTW, you can get a used 3SGTE head (with everything ready to go) for about $600. Custom work would, of course, be extra.

i know your trying to do the right thing for your motor, but this is one of those times where you should just trust the guys who have had their swaps for a while and have done a ton of research into this.

It depends on your HP goals. The ones they suggested are fine...hell...my Celi spools my T3/TO4B really quick and it's automatic and 1.8...the turbo is good for more than 300 WHP so maybe you can score one like that...they spool quick. My friend had one just like mine in his built 4G93 but then he changed the compressor to TO4E when he went stand-alone.
