92' Toyota Celica 4wd turbocharged for sale in Norway.. 20 000$ US (taxes, plates and registration included).. 105 000 miles on the clock, all services taken, power mirrors, original Toyota aluminum rims 16" and ABS brakes. Tinted rear windows, electrical windows, A/C.
Car is completely stock (engine wise) and have never been "played with". Stearing wheel is on the correct side (left) I just posted in off-topic that I don't have a clue on what car to get, then this one pops up. I even know the guy selling it. This is probably as close to a GT-Four I can ever get with plates in this ****ty country.. I asked him to send me as many pictures and details as he could ASAP. The car is Toyota super red and looks just GREAT. What do you guys think? -------------------- |

QUOTE(K-ESD @ Aug 3, 2005 - 10:13 AM) i think $20,000us is way too much, there's one in better shape than that down here in the maritimes selling for $7800 (canadian dollars) My 99 Celica ST cost 24 000$ US.. With the stupid 7A-FE engine, and no A/C. Nothing done to it AT ALL.. Bone stock. And 50 000 miles. Cars are expensive as [insert bad word of choice] in Norway.. Because of taxes. A used Supra is like 50 000$ US here.. +++ to get plates on it. So the price is actually really good. I'm just worried about the regular bugs that alot of people talk about on here.. Like broken turbos, cv joints, suspension and alignement problems etc.. Exterior or interior damage that doesn't show on pictures and so on. I'm buying this baby in a hearbeat if everything is as good as the images shows and the sellers webpage states. EDIT: Alot of people on here have 94 Celica GT and a few lucky bastards have a GT-Four around 94-95.. This isn't all that bad. It's only 2 years older.. The engine should last for another 100 000 miles.. Atleast if nobody mess with it too much. I hope This post has been edited by Illyont: Aug 3, 2005 - 10:25 AM -------------------- |

Then I'm confused again.. This would be the 5th gen Four, right? Since it's pushing 204 bhp with the 3S-GTE engine and have 4WD.. The regular 5th gen GT would use another engine? 3S-GE or 5S-FE (JDM, Euro / US).. And this would be the second gen 3S-GTE engine.. The first one coming from a ST165 Four?
Then we have the AllTrack, RC, GT-Four, Group A, regular GT, and I'm sure the slow ass ST version.. Carl Sainz edition (whatever changes that one have). AllTrack are 4WD to my knowledge.. And the RC is also 4WD. And the Four is of course also 4WD. Difference between these names would probably be where in the world the car was sold.. Japan and Euro have the GT-Four name, US have the AllTrack and RC name? Also the Group A name I'm sure is from Japan (Group A = WRC Edition?).. I was gonna ask in the 5th gen section of CelicaTech, but the registration e-mail takes forever to show up. Same with C5g.net I tried to search for ST185 on here, but 18 pages of 3S-GTE swap info came up -------------------- |

Alltrac is a 2nd Gen 3SGTE AWD. RC is the same thing, different hood and bumper I believe. The GTFOUR and Alltrack are the same thing. The first gen 3SGTE came in the 1st gen GTFOUR (which is a fourth gen celica). The Group A might have a water-air intercooler...not sure...

www.alltrac.net ............ All the answers you seek are there, young padiwan... I'd nut myself for a ST205. The All-Trac is a rich man's toy. Too much love and hate involved. Depends on what you want. 20 stacks for a car thats over ten years old is a shxtload, I don't care who you are. If you think its worth it, then rock on man. They are a blast to drive, especially on curvy roads or muddy terrain. :-D

The car is in Oslo atm (that's in the southeastern end of Norway), and I live kinda in the middle of Norway.. *sigh* but the car is coming up here again after a bodykit installation and a repaint. I was like "AAAAAAAAA!!! Why!?!?!?!?!".. Bodykit? I didn't like the sound of that. And if he is ditching the red paintjob, I'm gonna break his neck. Anyway.. Nothing to do with that now. I'll just have to wait until pictures of the finished job comes dumping into my e-mail. Hope it's not to bad. I'm also gonna bitch abit because of the price. Maybe get it down to about 17 000$ or something. I'm already planning some mods Found this stainless cat-back exhaust from HKS last night.. It was about 500$ and looks kinda nice. Not huuge but more like two small pipes and one muffler. A bit bigger than stock, but not large at all. I'm probably going HKS on the FCD and FMS too.. And the VBC (electronic boost controller). 204 bhp isn't all that much. So the engine should hold atleast 250, right? (another 10 stacks in taxes, but who needs to know? I'll just call it "race program for off-road use" or something).. Car is also going on the dyno before I pay for it. And I'm gonna get it tested really good at some national mechanic shop thingy. They do really good tests for about 125$.. I'm going to call my insurrance today and yell at them. One week since I registered my claim, and I haven't heard sh*t yet. 9 days since I crashed.. They should atleast contact me and let me know how it goes... Oh well. Doesn't Coomer have a 5th gen? With all the 2nd gen 3S-GTE swapped 6gc's in here I'm sure you guys don't mind having me here with my "real" 5th gen either? All the other forums seemed kinda dead.. And CelicaTech.. Well.. If my ST was slow.. I waited two minutes for every click I made on that forum last night. It was plain boring to wait. -------------------- |

There is a dude on www.alltrac.net named Gary and he helped me a tremendous amount with information and such about the All-Trac. Plus the guy is seemingly always online, so he responds to a ton of posts, as well as PMs. Its not hard to locate him either, he posts on about every topic. lol. He's a cool guy though, and like I said, he helped me a lot. The other Celica sites are kinda so-so. This site is cool (shameless plug) and all the people on here are pretty awesome. They mod their engines moreso than the people on alltrac.net do, but its just engine work. With suspension and other questions, I'd prolly say alltrac.net would be more helpful, just because everyone on there has experience with the All-Trac.
I liked my Trac but it was very love hate. If you have money to spend, its the way to go. If something goes seriously wrong on it, it becomes quite the headache. Its addicting though, lol. I'm gettin my first 6th gen this Friday. 1995 red GT 5 speed hatch. Hopefully it will be just as good and better than the other Celicas I have had. Still miss my first one. Best of luck man and post your dyno results!!! :-D -------------------- 1987 Celica ST (RIP) 1st car too

Sent Gary a PM on alltrac.net. Also, got a letter from insurrance today stating the obvious (car status: totaled)
They offered me 23 880$ US for the car.. And I refused. I want 25k.. the 5th gen can be delivered to me in 1-2 weeks if I want.. So I really can't wait for the money to come in from insurrance. Rims and tires alone on my car was almost 2 000$ US, and the car value (with original rims/tires are 23 500$ here in Norway).. The battle is on -------------------- |

Hey fella..
get the 185,,,, i have a couple of mates out here with 185's and after driving my four, rate the 185 as more fun even if it has a bit less power become a GT-4 owner and enjoy and 'alltrac.net' is a spot on site for a 185.......... -------------------- Life is for living, and you don't get a second chance Take care now !! |

Thanks Pop!
Just talked with insurrance again, and it seems they are giving me another 1 700$ US for rims, so I guess I'm happy. Correct figures are coming in on monday and might be a bit higher/lower. That gives me about 25 600$ US for my old Celica.. Leaves me with about 1 000$ loss on the car for those 4-5 months I have had the car. Not really that bad, considering I had a really sexy and funny car for almost half a year for only 1 000$ (gas and insurrance and other small stuff not calculated).. The same guy selling the 92' Four have also sold 2 (two, yes TWO) 6th gen Fours in the last month or so.. I guess I should find out how much he wants to get another one.. And if he can get more of those sexy 205's.. That would be even better Price probably is going to kill me though. Time will show. -------------------- |

but your the one buying it...... newer cars are always the way to go... i was looking at a 185 first but when my 205 five came up still in my price range i had to get it. even thou at the time i prefered the look of a 185..... 4 years younger got the vote i wouldn't change her for the world now This post has been edited by popstar: Aug 5, 2005 - 2:32 AM -------------------- Life is for living, and you don't get a second chance Take care now !! |

Then start looking for a newer car. After looking around on other cars (no matter what brand, modell, year, engine, performance, drivetrain) I'm even more sure that the price is infact really good. A decent ST205 would cost me way above 40 000$ US and several months waiting. So that's kinda out of the question for me yet. Because my insurrance went up with 30% after my crash. I do want a few mods to the 185 though.. I just saw a car (93') with Carlos Sainz edition front bumper and hood.. And I was like GAAAAWD, HOOOT.. So I guess I'm gonna start looking for those "replacement" parts pretty soon. I have also seen a new aftermarket bumper that kinda looks like the Veilside Invader bumper. I know they produce those replicas in Germany somewhere (not far from here). So that leaves the hood. Gary from Alltrack gave me a whole bunch of advise on testing the condition of the car engine wise last night so I'm going for a test drive next week. If everything is done by then. -------------------- |
