Yah... I bought a Body Kit, and I got it a few days ago...

Its nothin to really scream about cuz its not an exreme looking kit. Its just my style... Simple, and curvey... Its an Erebuni Kit... Someone on the site has the exact same kit, and matter of fact, they have a white convertile too! Haha! Thats funny... But I forgot who's it is... But yeah, if you know them, my car will look exactly like that... Except mine will have a wing... and it wont be lowered...

But yeah... When I oredeed the kit, I saw somewhere that for this kit that Intsllation on a GT or Convertible model will require slight modification... Its true.... The front fender of the kit is gonna havta be shaved down an inch and a half and shaped to fit perfectly... The Side Skirts fit alright, excpet one side skirt is gona be shaved down because for some reason, thebottom inside of it curls upward... That needs to go or it wont fit on my car..

Then the back bumper... Does not fit what so ever mad.gif Grrr! This is whats gona make this a project.... The flipin back fender... Its too short! No I know the kit is originally suppose to fit an ST, but damn.. this is no slight modification... Me and my dad we're thinkin on how to get it to fit, and we're gonna hava to customize in order to get it to fit! Joy! rolleyes.gif Or take the back fender to the Body Shop to deal with...

But yeah... This kit is pretty weird... No bolting at all... Just molding pretty much...

But yeah... How we're gonna do it, Im not too sure... But once weget n idea I'll let yall know!

Out of curiousity, did you research before you bought the kit? There are a ton of posts indicating that body kits made for the hatch (all of them) will require modification to the rear lip for coupes and convertibles. Having said that, there is a really nice pic of a red coupe with the z-glyde rear lip molded on and it looks very good.

As for the front and sides, thats just crappy U.S. knockoff quality. I am really beginning to think that the best thing you can do if you're going to buy a kit is pony up the large for the real thing.

Good luck with your project.

i know your trying to do the right thing for your motor, but this is one of those times where you should just trust the guys who have had their swaps for a while and have done a ton of research into this.

Yep, I researched and everything.... I knew that all kits were made for the ST and that thre would be some modifying in order to get it to fit... But I didnt know that the only serious modification for this kit would be on the back bumper... But I had a gut feelin all a long that somethig wouldn't fit, and it was the back fender... Cuz on the GT/Convertible the back bumper pokes out a lot more than the little hatchback..

Yeah... I was pretty pissed about the side skirt being off.. but all I havta do is shave it down, then re-fiberglass it to curl up slihtly to hang onto the car beter like the other one... Damn.. There's gonna be a lot of re-fiberglassing... Ugh!

Its not a difference between the ST and the GT, but between the coupe/convertible and the hatchbacks. The coupe/vert have basically the same body, which has a rear bumper/fender that is a bit longer than the hatch. But since the hatch is more popular, all body kits were made for the hatch.

Anyway, i thinkyou knew that, but just got confused between Coupe vs. Hatch and GT vs. ST.

Either way, i hoipe it doesnt take too long Sabrina. I love terresa's car and if your car is going to look like that, its going to be hot! After you get it on, you HAVE to come to one of the NW meets!

haha biggrin.gif Haha I'll proabbaly will be able to make the meets next year, I'll be 18.. So I'll have a little more slack to be able to make to some of the meets smile.gif An with my new look on my car, I really wanna go!

The Kit shouldn't take forever to put on... Everything pretty much fits all except for the back bumper...

Im not sure how this is gonna work, but my dad has an idea for it to fit... But one idea is to cut the bumper in peices and re-fiberglass them together and make it longer... I hae no clue ow its gonna be done, but my dad see's how it could work... He's done stuff like this before back in the day I guess, but he said he neds to look at it more to see if it could work...

My idea was to just do the front and side skirts, then take the back bumper in to a body shop to be fitted properly... Then we can have the car back all fitting properly then we can do the painting.. LOL I'd sure sleep better at night if we did that... But we'll see... I dont really like the idea of chopping up the back bumper and strecthing it out ont the car...

*Sigh* I want my kit on so bad... Its gonna be awhile... Ugh! It looks so cool! LOL

Try a heat gun or hair dryer for anything thats warped the wrong way. heat it up and rewarp it. As far as the rear, cut off the ends that are too short. Line them up and bolt them to your fenders. I will post pics later of this, i just found some. Make the extra length in fiberglass. Your front should have fit right on, unless they gave you the wrong front. 404 vs 404a Post some pics of the problems before you do some work so we can help you out a bit Sabrina.

Cool thanks madmods smile.gif

Everything you said basically we're doing... good to know that idea will work...

There's a difference in front bumpers? Hmm... I dunno if this is it... But the only differences I see outa the kit was that you could order two different syle bumpers... One having 2 posts in the front fender... then there's the one that doesnt even have posts.... (Thas what I got)

Well...My kit is just the regular 404... The only problem I have with it is that is that its about a inch n' a half too long... we're gonna have to shave it down and curve it...
