I saw the ad on ebay, and was wondering if you more knowledgeable guys can give me a history lesson. I know its a jdm motor that puts out 210 hp. Anybody in the states have one? Was the difference against the 5? Will it past smog? What beam mean? Will the c26 bolt up to its manifold? Has anyone turboed it?
thanks ahead guys |

The red top BEAMS 3S-GE like the one on eBay does not put out 210 horsepower, but rather, 197 horsepower. Outsider is doing the swap. I wouldn't buy the motor to turbo it...it doesn't make sense to spend that much money on an engine just to tear it apart(you'd definitely want a lower compression ratio) and rebuild it to handle boost.

From what i have learned from this site is that the Beams engine is a big no no for turbo because of the VVTI technology that it has.
Its the same system that gives the engine the extra 20 horsepower over my engine. -------------------- JDM Powerplant installed, BPU coming very soon!

PS is not the same as HP/BHP. So it has 197 BHP.
