Hi came across a couple of mods on ebay just wanted some help and oppinions:

Toyota Celica 88 89 90 91 - 04 Performance Chip Module.

Any idea if this will be worth getting.

Ebay Item number: 7992181043

And this

90-94 95 96 97 98 99 Toyota Celica ST GT GTS Air Intake.

Ebay Item number: 7992283827

Does anyone know if these kits work ok as i know there are two pipes and a black box connected to the air intake pipe on my 1989 celica gt-r st183 and a sensor in the air box what do u do with these any help would be great. confused.gif

Chips are worthless.. an intake will not really help, but looks nice and sounds cool.

Any real worthwhile mod, are turbos swaps, or a lot of internal engine work.

Ok get on a dyo and prove that to me. I find that complete bs.. maybe 1-2 hp. But with our "economy" designed heads, its not going to gain much at all. A nice v8 or a nice tuned highercompression motor, will but not ouir stock us engines.

"Q: How much power increase will I see with the Dr.CAI?

A: The actual power gain will vary from car to car based on other mods and the amount of tuning done on the car. Approximately 8-10hp is common. "

sorry to say but to see that kinda of power your going to need tuning plus fuel control to adjust your air/fuel to benefit from that mod. Just start bolt on maybe 3-4 hp at the crank so maybe 0.7-1.2 horse to the ground

TUNING IS THE KEY TO UNLOCK YOUR MOTORS TRUE POTENTIONAL wink.gif

I aint really looking at gaining power from the induction kit the main reason for looking into bying this is because my air intake pipe is split and a new one is about three times the price of this kit but i really need to know what u do with the two pipes connected to the intake pipe and the air sensor my car has the 3sge engine cheers

Just buy a good intake setup for your 3SGE from a reputable company and follow their directions to install it. If you can't make your own, I would play it safe and buy one so that you can follow their steps to install and this way it'll look nice and perform well also....you never know what an EBAY user might try to sell you. wink.gif
