Ok, so I was all set up to get this 6th Gen but I got pissed off at the guy, and I started shopping around... Yadda yadda yadda, I now own a 95 Civic coupe. I think it suites me better, because I'm a mechanical retard, and it doesn't take brains to build up a Civic. I keep my Toyota emblem in my ashtray though, so I know where my heart truly lies.
I just keep getting this feeling like someone is chanting "You sold out" and it kinda sucks. I started hooking it up a little bit, exhaust intake strut bar and shift knobs and shxt. Immediately though, I noticed the small things that I never really payed much attention to. Its the small things that count. For example... This Civic's door handles are awkward as hell. The rearview mirror is on the window, not on the roof, which sucks. The seats suck almost as much as a Ford's. The backseat is a bench, not a bucket, which is nice and allows for more comfort backseat. ;-). There is no seat height adjustment, and that is my second biggest complaint. The first (not counting power) is the clutch/shifter engagement. With a Toyota, you KNOW what gear its in, just by looking at it. This Civic feels like a manual truck... Just feels spongy. Checked out fine and all, but just night and day to Toyota. I got this car because it was $2500 and was tremendous on gas, compared to the mother loving, gas sucking All-Trac. I am looking for a fun drive, not a powerful one. With power, one loses mpg. I'm not economical, but I like balance. One day down the line, I'll get me a Camry or a Lexus IS300 or a CTS-V. I think a 5SFE Camry would be nice, with a auto-to-manual swap. Speaking of... What kind of tranny would you need for the Camry? Would it be a Celi or a MR2? I would think a Celi, bein that the Camry is a front engine FWD, like the Celi. I'm rambling on, but I just thought I would post on here because, GOD DAMN, do I love Toyotas. Toyota>Honda Anyone else on here had a Civic? Kinda looking for some quality Civic info sites and part sites and shxt, without puting up with "Honda is GOD" douche bags. Celica, or better yet, Camry. -------------------- |
