Is it just the pic or are some areas brighter than others? When I put LEDs in my cluster parts were bright while other parts were dark and it didn't look so good.

when I resized the pic with MS paint it did distort it a bit. There are some areas that are brighter than others, getting the right LEDs are the key. Here is a more accurate pic

actually I used the 6. The size of the 9 I don't think would of fit through the hole in the back of the cluster wink.gif

Looks pretty good. I especialy like the look of the single gauge.

As far as replacement bulbs go the standard diameter of any 194 should not be more than 15 millimeters. All you should have to worry about is the length.

"SUPER REFRACTOR" a.k.a. "matrix" 5 LED bulb will give you 100% even light distribution. That is what I bought and I am completely satisfied with the outcome. No "hot spots" at all.

Looks good man, I got thoes wide angle led's and they did the same thing to me. I got a new set though that have the wide angle with like 4 led's pointing sideways on it, pretty expensive but check em out if the uneaven lighting bothers you. I imagine mine are like wanabegt4's user posted image

I used blue LEDs from ebay (bulb #74)

First I replaced the green directional covers with clear ones then replaced the bulbs with the blue LED bulbs. I was thinking about changing the blue turn bulbs to amber or yellow ones instead for a better contrast. opinions ...?

I first tried the blue lighting stuff that is over my clock but they were more purple than blue. Then I tried replacing the green covers I used part of a plastic milk/water gallon jug (near the handle of the jug). I wanted to find something with the same texture of the green covers and the jug was perfect. I needed something that wasn't clear, but was see through and frosted/white.

I put 2 jug peices on each side and the LEDs in and it is wicked bright and blue.

I just purchased an st204, and the dash lights are way too dim for me, even when cranked to max. how do LEDs work? i don't want to know how they work technically, but do you just plug them into the existing bulb sockets? is any capacitor soldering going to have to be done?

You can buy type 194 LEDs that will fit into the existing sockets.
