roughly how much do you guys think it will cost me for a new paint job. my celi is red right now, i plan on sanding it all by myself (to cut on costs a little) then i need to find the cheapest way to paint it black. i can't really do it myself, sincei don't trust myself making it actually look nice, so i was wondering how much it cost some of you guys to get your car painted.

If you do all the prep work which, btw, is the most important part of painting a car, then your probably looking at 2500-3000.

I wouldn't think it'd cost that much. If you sand the car and do the body work yourself and pull off parts and mask it yourself I don't think it'd cost more than $1,500 for someone who's good with paint to spray the car for you.

personally, i would have the shop u bring it to do everything.. u might leave some cut marks or minor things that u will see when they paint it... have them do it this way there responsible and its done professionally.. biggrin.gif

if you just want the outside sprayed, you can do maaco/earl scheib, but it will look like a $500 job, because, it is

a real paintjob, their prices are all reasonable..

depends on if you want one stage (gloss black) or two stage (black with clear coat) paint......you roughly looking at 600.00 for supplies and then add on what they are gonna run ya for labor......i'd say at the most with you dong most the prep and sanding with buffing you are looking at 1000.00 maybe 1500.00 at the most. you just have to look at the labor fee's and see who's cheaper.......i'm also giveing you the pricing based on PPG paint, so if you want HOC it may be more.

Oh also with you having a red and wanting black you may be interested in getting it primered first

im payin for my paint job..switchin from super red to R81(honda red), and its costing me $2000. But once again it depends on where u go and if you do prep work or not. My friend got his car (86 chevette) repainted from brown to Jaguar British Racing Green for $300. Mind u he did all the prep, priming, dent removal, trim removal, sanding and every thing him self. But saved him a crap load of $.
