i have a switchblade key.. but not that one... been using it for about a year... mine is of crap quality... and is plastic.. (not sure if the one you showed is plastic or some kind of metal-like thing)

mine is the type that swings up from the side... the blade never went all the way and always kind of stuck out a bit when 'hidden' (if you know what i mean)

anyway... other than the above part... i dropped it a few times before.. then one time after dropping.. it stopped working.. i took it apart and fixed it as best i could.. and now it swings up really slowly.. before you could feel the 'swinging' when it hits the top...

on ebay.. item #7992936443 is the one I have (except it has a toyota logo on it)
cost about $20 when i got it a year ago

there is also a battery area (i am assuming they were PLANNING to put remote stuff in it later? but it's also hollow inside...

but i got mine from a group buy a year ago... i guess it was an impulse buy after playing with my friend's jetta keys i wanted one too.. i don't play with it much anymore

the jetta key feels soo much better.. it feels like it's magnetic or sumthin and snaps into place when you close it...

the one i have it doesn't feel the same... but i guess you can't expect the same type of quality from these keys as oem ones
