Hey everyone. A few weeks ago, I came back from work to see my Celica's plates on a '99 Toyota Camry. My dad traded my car while I was at work. My heart was torn to peices, but it was for my mom, so I was grateful, except for the fact that I had no car to drive around. The Celica was under my dad's name, so yes, he had the right to do it. I've been stuck driving a '91 Camry DX around that sucks on gas. Today, I was cruising around town, and happened to stumble upon an '89 Corolla GT-S. 4AGE powered. TVIS. 64,000 original miles. $2,500. That's right. I drove her. I drove her hard. The car is in GREAT shape both inside and outside. I thought I had lost all hope, but I believe in love at first drive.

Just thought I'd share.

You all think I should jump on that 'Rolla?

- Chong

Wow that sucks Vangsta! frown.gif Good luck on your decision. I'd say just save up and ride the 91 Cam. then you can find something more up to date and well worth your money.

Its an AE92. You see, the situation is though, that the '91 Camry eats gas like there's no tomorrow. I have to commute to college half an hour to school every single day. I need something good on gas, cheap on insurance, and is in the Toyota family (my choice smile.gif ).

I think the right thing of your dad to do would have been to offer the car to you before trading it in. You lose soo much money when you trade in a car. He could have sold it to you for the "trade in" price. That would have been a steal for you and he would have gotten the same money. Yes he did own the car, but still he shouldnt have let a great car like that go without offering it to you.

It was mine already. Insurance is just cheaper under my dad's name. But out of respect and everything he's provided me already, I don't mind him doing this for the sake of my mother.

I'll make him buy me the Corolla.

If you're going to pay $2500 for it, it better be MINT. I've seen them go for under $1000 in still decent shape (high miles though).

Its all the way here in Appleton. Its a small dealer right off of Wisconsin Avenue. Its kind of hard to describe, but its right by the train tracks on Wisconsin.

2500 is a bit high... but it's up to you. I'd personally reccomend you shop for a 90-91... cause they have the better engine (smallport)... and with a 2500 budget... you should be able to find a pretty nice one. I got mine with 140K for only 700.00...
