if i got a power FC, and ran the extra (few) wire's for the 2ZZ head. could i run a 2ZZ head w/ the vvtl-i on a 7AFE? (auto)??

from what i figure for the electronics part of it, i would have to leave the stock ecu to control the auto, and have the PowerFC run the rest of the car. (is that posible)

and primarily. is it mechanickly feasible?

oh, jeeez, must not flame

Ok, answer is no, because the two blocks are completely different.

Nothing will mount up, the only similarity is the displacement.

It would be like mounting a 3.0 vtech accord head onto a 3.0 camry block, things won't just swap out because the engine is the same size.

you can however swap a ge head onto a 7a, just not the 2zz-ge

This is a case in automotive life when even money is not going to solve a problem, hehe. It's like having an elephant butt-f@ck an ant, hehe...NOT POSSIBLE! tongue.gif

OK, OK, enough w/ the jabbs... i know it's all in good humor, and i know that i should have read the top thread.. so there SORRY!!!!!!!

so if i were to go for a turboed 7afe block, what would be the best head to get for it???

the 4age? from what i'v been reading, that would work, and since i would have to change the IM and fuel system for the turbo anyway.

and as far as internals, the 2zz rodds and pistons? (no or slightly modified)

the point in mind of this theoretical build would be to give GREAT power up top, where the st's auto is already enguaged, w/o haveing to the whole thing.

no drag car, but a fast car none the less... eh? and please this time only sierious replys this time.

thank you.

you have alot of searching to do. Not only in this forum, but in the 4a club also.

Since you are only going to make a quick car, i would not recomend you changing the engine head or messing with the internals. Just slap on a turbo and get it managed nicely.

If you want to change the head, you would have to deal with alot more then you can handle. You would have to deal with finding a timing belt that would fit. The right head gasket. A ecu that can handle the new engine. i know nik is in the process of doing this. But nik is a pro, even I am a noob compared to nik. And i have worked on engine since i was 10 years old.

As for the 2zz rods, they are in the works by fallenhero. So far they do not fit. You will need to get some machine work to get them to work.

ok now you've even said it yourself "and i know that i should have read the top thread"

READ THESE:
http://www.6gc.net/forums/index.php?showtopic=28068
http://www.6gc.net/index.php?action=howto&itu=128

these are two great pieces on turbocharging a 7afe......THE ONLY head option you have is a 4a head onto a 7afe......

and if you ever say anything with a "zz" in it we will have to bear consiquences on you

as of now the zz pistons are TOO bloody large (as in, they look like they would knock the cylinderhead right off the block) when fitted to the 7afe rods. When on the 2zz rods... even more of a problem.

I am however going to go to my machinist at siome point and talk to him about what to do. then I will have feedback.
