I've had my 94 celica a couple years now and I think it's time to put in a turbo. I don't want to buy a kit, instead I want to get each individual part and the put it all together myself. Right now I need some advice on what tubo to buy, and what manifold to use. I read some articles about the b series manifold which i like because of the flange for an external wastegate, but it seems like there isn't much room below the manifold for the turbo to go. The turbos i'm looking at are the Garrett t3/t04E .48a/r 46 trim, Garrett t25bb, Garrett t3 50 trim .48a/r. I want good low end response and want to run average of about 8 pounds boost. PLEASE HELP ME.

so what are you planning on doing just slapping a turbo on and boosting for awhile till you get money to either swap or build the 7afte? what kind of power are you looking for? at 9.5 psi on garrett i push 170whp and 180 torque pretty much 200 horse to the crank then i pushed it 10-12 psi as my daily driver so probably 195 whp+

I hope to eventually rebuild the 7afte to get some more power, but right now i just don't have the money to do all of that or another car to drive. I would like to be around 200hp with this turbo. I'm not trying to go all out and build a race car, but i do want to get some more speed and that nice turbocharged sound smile.gif . I'm new to the whole turbo thing so i've been reading a lot of the posts on turbocharging the 7afe. Any suggestions or tips i should consider please throw my way.

i got that book....good stuff in there. Will help me out a lot. One question about the t3 50trim, on the compression map it seems you're right the the surge limit? (far left bar). Will this create any kind of problems?
