So im like 80% sure im gonna sell my celi soon. Its killin me on gas when i have to drive like 40 min across town to get to school. It takes about 1/8th of a tank each way and im gonna have to do that daily for the next 36 weeks or so. So im thinkin of gettin somethin a little better/newer. SO i went to the local toyota dealer today and was lookin through their used car lot. I was thinkin about gettin a 2dr echo hatch or somethin. The first thing that caught my eye was a 2003 Matrix XRS. So i was takin a look at it n this sales men comes up n tells me its got 20000km on it, only 1 owner who barely drove it. 6 speed, 4x2, 1.8L, all the options, JBL am/fm radio with 6 cd changer, bazooka tube, 17" rims, all season tires, full skirt package, optional bigger exhaust, 3 year warrenty. The sticker price was just over $20K, but he said the lowest it could be brought down to is around $16000 cuz i actually delt with the same guy when my gf's family was buyin their matrix XR. So im thinkin of gettin it if i do decide to sell the celi. Any one drivin one of these? Know how good they are? Any problems??

It looks exactly like this, but in black and with tinted windows all around

My Celi is runnin really rich, like i go through 1/8th of a tank of gas drivin from martingrove and 401 - warden and 401. And thats highway econo. My gf's matrix XR we drove from here (401 and martingrove) to napanee(like out by ottawa) on a lil more then 1/4 tank.

Theres nothing really nicer around here for $16000. Every thing is used and old. Also this is $16000 CND, not USD, cuz i know for like $16000 USD u can get a brand new TC or XA. If we had scion up here i would so go for a XA or a Tc.

my mom has a matrix. its a nice car, but slow as crap, and the gas milage is about the same as a normal celica. i think the xrs is a high comp motor that you have to put premium gas in, so it will end up costing you more money. not to mention the 16,000+ in loans and monthly payments youll have to fork out each month.

if you celica is having bad gas milage, try doing a tune up, changing the o2 sensor and making sure the tires are inflated correctly.

if you just want a new car, then i would take a look into the scion TC. youll get a brand new car for the same price as that used matrix and itrwill be a little faster then a normal celica.

I would get a TC, but 1 problem, scion = not avilbe in canada. Only model thats avilble is a XB, and thouse things r ugly. And im not gonna b duin 16000+ in loans, im sellin my celi to get somethin newer and im not duin payments, im gonna use the $ from my celi, then gonna get a maybe $5000 loan from my grandparents, and to pay them back it will b like $100 a month or less. my grandparents gave my sis $10000 to buy her protoge and she leased it, so she had $10000 to pay her lease with. I did a tune up, the pervious owner did a tuneup b4 i bought it, showed me a list of every thing he did. New o2, air filter, pcv, rad, timing belt, water pump, every thing. And i check my tires daily. And i still get crappy millage. Plus i ski man, and i need to be drivin an hour n a half every saturday n sunday morning and night to get to my ski club. So im gonna need somethin i can pop my skis in/a snowboard(for freinds) + at least 2 passangers. My dads got this old thule ski coffin but doesnt use it, and its about the length needed for a matrix(its fitted for a grandprix, impala, grandam). Plus i gotta give ppl rides sometimes and i had me, jon(6'2), my friend andrea(5'2) and her friend bindi (5'3) and we were packed, and uncomfortable. My gf's matrix, her parents, me, her, clothing and food for 3 days, a kayak, a paddel, and we had plenty of leg room for both us and her parents.

only honda hybrids up here are the honda insight. There arent to many hybrids actually made it to the market. Its mostly the insight(few and far between), Prius, Ford explorer hybrid, and the new lexus SUV hybrid.
