OK...so here is the deal: The only thing that I can think about is a stinking GT-4. I dream of them, imagine myself driving one anytime I am behind a wheel. It is just so sick, how could I let something consume me this much?
What made me fall in love with them is the 6gen body style, then with research, I found out that america gets jipped that year with only fwd cars. Thus, the GT-4 becomes my ultimate dream. It is just so hard for me to justify a fwd car, cause out hear, I have the most perfect roads for drifting. The dilema: There is a very nice 5th gen GT-4 for sale. but it is not 6th gen. 5gc...GT-4 OR the body syle that I am madly in love with...6gc???? some opinions would be great here, I am so torn on weather or not to jump on the chance to own a GT-4, even though it is not the 6g. Part of me says, turbo, AWD, good deal. The other part of me says, but the 6gen is what you really love about 'em. Thanks for some help! -------------------- |

if you can afford to own and maintain a 5th gen all-trac whats the dilemma?
also think you may be a bit confused about what you want out of this car. a gt-four or all-trac is not for 'drifting' |

my bad...I guess what I mean, is that I really dont want a car that tends to understeer like the fwd cars do. I can not all out "drift" here, but can certainly push the performance. The awd or rwd is superior to the fwd in this area. Plus, would be fun in the snow that we get here.
I guess that the problem for me is that I love that 6 gen body style so much, that I almost want to hold out for an imported 6gen one. The price of a 5gen would be a nice down on an imported one. But, I think that I am really crazy here, cause the chances of me actually being able to afford an imported car, let alone getting my hands on one for real...is totally insane. you are right, if I want the GT-4, then I should leap at the opportunity to have one, and here it is...in the 5th gen -------------------- |

well it really is a matter of whether you want performance or looks. on the performance side its going to cost you, not only for the car but also in terms of maintenance and the modifications you'll want to do to it. looks are a bit more affordable but maybe not as satisfying. its up to you
and in regards to importing a 6th gen gt-four. its not going to happen. atleast not for a few years when they will be legal for import in canada, then it'll be a whole heck of a lot easier |

hey,
it took me 10 years to get my st205 .. saw one 10 years ago in a mag and now i own one .. shame it is RHD but at same time it is fun ... if you really want awd just get st185 and down the road get a st205 motor or just get a ems and get rid of afm as it real chokes the turbo .. Fourfun,
Take my advice & go for the gen 5 GT4. I promise you you wont regret it. The performance will satisfy you, the way it goes round corners will have you grinning like mad all the time you're driving it You'll be pleased to know that it doesn't cost too much to maintain it either. Just make sure you get a good one to start off with & have it serviced on a regular basis. They're quite thirsty on petrol, but then you don't want this car for its fuel economy do you. I've had my G6 GT4 for 1 1/2 yrs now & I still grin every time I drive it & hear the D/V chirping away If you'd like some advice on the G5 ST185 have a look on www.gt4oc.net Cheers, Rich -------------------- |
