its pretty rough on your tranny...but hit the brake all the way to the floor and gas it to about 2500...then let go of the brake and slam the gas? the car is probably gonna shake a lot...if its still wanting to pull forward while you're pressing the brake down hard then give it less gas. But...an auto st (no offense) isn't going anywhere fast off the line.

If you got auto start off in gear 1 or 1, then as you go near red zone shift up to gear 2 and so on. Make sure u use the power button / over drive if you have them. Too bad gear 4 is all that car's got.

thnx, yeah. i plann on haveing the od/off.
true it's not a "drag" car, but any car can still drag.... hehe as far as "going through the gears" , i'll try that, i was thinking about doing that, but i'm not sure if this will act like the subaru auto's, they don't like it when u do that, and for some reason (even though it allows u to "hold" the gear.) ends up getting u worse times at the stripp. as far as "pre-loading" for the launch, i'm not shure if i will do that, but we'll see.. thnx for all the advice ! ;P -------------------- |

Get a evo and put a tire between your rear bumper and his front bumper and when the light turns green have him step on the gas.

i'll tell you now if you want to cut a good light for your rt (reaction time) your best bet is to leave when the second yellow goes on. (not the staging lighs) also i don't use me brake, i use my ebrake, but i have a 5sd....stage up and hold your ebrake up reve up to 2g and when the light gets to the second yellow (when counting down) drop the ebrake down and floor the gass......ive been doing this in copetition (elimination) for four weeks now and am running .518 rt's.......
good luck and have fun P.S. put them on the trailer This post has been edited by celicagurl152003: Sep 2, 2005 - 5:16 PM |

well, i;m back.... i chose to "slightly" pre-load the tranny, when the first yellow light on the tree whent on, (so as not to over do it, not to long) then mash on it @ the green.
and here is the result r/t....269 60'...2.597 330..7.502 1/8...11.525 ^mph 61.01 1000..14.971 1/4..17.922 ^mph 211.46 (this is what the slipp says, but i have no clue as to why or what the actual 1/4 mph was...... this is w/ my home made CAI (based off the how to, but w/ only oe cut in the pipe, custom grounding kit (4awg) nology hot wire's. that's it.... do u all think that a header back set up w/ high flow cats, to an sp2 will help much? and thnx to all who replied. -------------------- |

thats your 1/4(outlined in red) but the mph makes no sense lol it says your going 211.46mph and that is just a tad too fast personally i think that a header with a hiflow cat wont be of much and if you want more juice out of your engine your gonna have to go the turbo or nitrious oxide route This post has been edited by hellsyphon: Sep 3, 2005 - 2:49 AM |

high, i'm actually using my brother's stock 2000 calica GTS rims, w/ the remainder of the original tire's they'r 16" btw.....
the reason why i'm thinking about the header back set-up, is becuase when i get at the top end of my power (right when it should be really making high HP) it seems to kinda choke up... like it wants to keep going, but it's having to blow through a straw.... eh, perhaps when i get my port/ polished IM w a surgetank spacer. should help -------------------- |

your welcome to try, Edo saved you the trouble though he fully *and I mean fully* tuned a 7afe and only produced in the low 100? Cant remember exactly. He did thousands in mods too, I would recommend a turbo at the least if you really wana see any affects.
