I have a 97' top CD player/bottom cassette player deck, and CD player wouldn't play cds anymore, so I purcahsed a 98' CD deck thinking they're the same ****. Turn out the plug on the back is different. What is there that I could do? Please help!

I'm not sure if I'm ready for an aftermarket one... My last car was broken into because of the aftermarket deck, not only they took my deck, they also stole my whole collection of CDs!!!!! OMG I'm starting to get pissed off again.. arrrgghh!!!!
Anyway... she is named Honey edit: no the 98' didn't come with plug, I got it from this one person on this forum and the whole time i thought I could swap straight it so I didn't ask him. This post has been edited by tomazws: Aug 30, 2005 - 8:34 PM -------------------- |

if the deck came with the plugs in the back then you could rewire it into your stock harness, but without those plugs your pretty much screwed :E
edit: yeah id suggest you pm the guy and try to see if he still has the plugs This post has been edited by hellsyphon: Aug 30, 2005 - 9:23 PM |

I would suggest getting the plugs from the person who sold/gave you the radio.

that 98 deck is not from a Celica is it, looks like maybe from a Landcruiser, Camary, Avalon, or a 4Runner. I *believe it will only be plug and play with the stock amp (premium sound system).

one suggestion for stock stereo... get a scion stereo like mine it plays MP3 stock and plugs right up but you will need to do some mod's on your front dash cover though and also do a mod to bolt it on. plays better than the regular toyota one's and has better bass to it too. it sounds incredible in my car, like i have a sub in there or something.
