Ok people here's the deal
Stock 94-99 celica's came with a 70 or 80 amp alternator..... They have ONE optin for us 1.8l and 2.2l that requires no modifications at all. Fits right in. This is a HIGH performance alternator pushing a massive 170 amps. Here's the bad part..... It's $649.99....... But there is an option for it.... hopefully someone buys it -------------------- |

i heard if you need more power from your alternator, find a shop that can change the current brushes in the alternator to high-performance ones. i'm not sure how much that would compare to the ones posted in the link above, but it would be the cheaper alternative.

well.. there are metal brushes inside every alternator that when friction is present, it creates voltage. these brushes can be changed for *better* ones to produce more power. this is great for when you add an aftermarket stereo in your car. i got it from this one girl who only owns toyotas and told me this. she's been a mechanic for years and has done this more than once. i believe her.
