Lately I've been doing those three. Mountain biking, running, and some basic weightlifting. I also thought playing pick-up basketball got me in great shape in the past. I've backed off of heavy weight lifting since I hurt my shoulder, so I do push-ups more now. I'm pretty new to mountain biking but I'm really liking it. Jumping rope is really good, too.

#1 I work as a server so have to move
#2 I eat relatively healthy food such as salads and meat etc #3 every day I travel up and down the stairs in my house #4 I walk as much as I can #5 I lift weights (however I do so to stay fit and not so0 much beefed up) In case you are wondering about #5 -I will work with computers in the future and looking like Arnold aint exactly my thing. Secondly it is a natural thing for your body to start loosing muscle. All men do.. even Arnold. body turns muscle into fat and skin into stretchy thing. The only way to beat this is to excersise in exccess of what you are now.. maning raising the bar for yourself not on a weekly basis but on a daily pattern. -------------------- Captain Pessimist

Mostly anaerobic exercise (dumbells, machine weights), with the occasional running late to class thrown in . When I have free time I'd go jog around the lake nearby, but usually it's just weights. Can't seem to gain weight nor height though, damnit.

Where is the option for "other" or "none of the above"
i used to run but my knee is getting worse so i've been avoiding my tredmil. If i wrap my knee i can go for a half hour but after that i start getting shooting pains up my leg. Not a nice feeling. Pilates is my thing. I doubt any of the guys here do that though . One of my guy friend tried it, it was hilarious watching him try to put his feet behind his head. Men are just not bendy. I guess i could go bike, if i knew how to ride a bike. -------------------- Buy my Celica $2,500 - http://www.6gc.net/forums/index.php?showtopic=76562&st=0

I said all three, cause I sometimes go biking, but more often it's just lifting weights and running. A really good plan is lift weights as hard as you can, and then go running right afterwards. It really tires you out, and also loosens you up so your not near as sore the next day. Then if you really want to "buff up" start taking some protein supplement too.

fat does not turn into muscle. that is such a common misconception. when you lift, your muscle fibers tear slightly. Hence u get that burning pain sensation after u lift. that is why it is so essential for protein intake when u lift. the protein repairs the fibers and fibers are built on top of one another. building muscle. -------------------- Note to new members. ok well everyone knows i lift hardcore...i mean it depends on wut u are tyrin to achieve if its just some weight u know and stil have flab well thast ok or just skinny thast ok too me personally i want vin diesel type of body so to obtain that its 75% Diet and 25% hardcore weights diet is the key and not just EATING HEALTHY cause i can eat healthy by eating lots of grains and fruit but ill gain too much mass to be defined so its mostly 50% protein (chicken, tuna, fish, cottage cheeese) 30% carbs (vegetables, ice cream lol) 20% fat (normal fat of chicken and tuna and salmon some nuts olive oil etc) and weights must be done strickly no stupid machines once u get the diet in check and a hardcore weight training regime then u can start including the cardio for the ulimate look
