How does the engine sound? how is the 3sge tranny working? lsd? what was the issue with the mounts?

might want to ask supersprynt how to wire up the intercooler pump... cause he just got his water to air not to long ago.

i always thought it was just an electric pump that runs off the cars main ecu or can be hardwired on.

Engine sounds great, I love it so freaking awesome. I have a nonLSD 3sge tranny its very beefy so i doubt I'll have any trouble with it. I was told that st205 mounts would work with my swap but they didnt, so I had to track down GT mounts

In his case he put a W/A on a regular st185. I have an RC edition engine, its a totally different engine. He's not getting a code 54 because his engine never had a stock W/A setup.

In my case, I have a ST185RC that came stock with the set up. I have to wire up the intercooler ECU. It controls every function of the pump and sensor. Once I wire it up, I just have to jump some wires that go to the plug for the ECU then I can trash the IC-ECU.

I'm going to do this over the weekend hopefully I can finish.

Thanks alot guys

I'm planning a full GT4 conversion. Until then there is a very small chance I could add a hole or two on the hood.

Once I get the bugs worked out I'll start making videos. should be next week some time.

Thanks

Defgeph, what is the part number for your ECU? I have what I think is a 93WRC ECU but I just wanted to double check. Thanks.

it dosnt need any hood scoop, because the intercooler he has is water to air and not air to air like the normal alltrac ones. on the gt4 hood, the vent is only there to vent out hot turbo/manifold heat form the enigne bay, but it dosnt scoop any air over the IC.

wow... ok... cool... my bad. Lol - I thought that even water - air IC's needed some air flow over them to keep the water from becoming heatsoaked..... my bad. Thanks for the correction lagos biggrin.gif

you are right, they do. they have coolant lines that go from the IC to a water pump to a radiator type of thing that you mount in the front of the car.

Better known as a heat exchanger.

i know your trying to do the right thing for your motor, but this is one of those times where you should just trust the guys who have had their swaps for a while and have done a ton of research into this.

I've always thought it would be really cool to use the factory fog lamp position on the 96+ bumper to make like CF air scoops or something....That would be a stealthy cooling addition to the car possibly in conjunction with the hood trick that Steve mentioned.

I can tell you guys, its very hot under that hood. I might be adjusting the hood this weekend to bring the temps down a bit.

I know that IC is working over time under there. A vented hood would definately help in my cooling effect.

I'm liking the idea there Corey, I might just something like that.
