I'd be interested in the results, as I'm considering a TRD quickshift for the Four.

Unbelieveably expensive though.

GO WITH TWM AS I SAID

TWM is 40% more reduction in shift...
its 60% less shift then stock
trd is 40% less then stock
TWM is better

twm is 160
trd is 200+ (est.)

TWM PAWNS TRD

I am getting a twm for my bday (I got a trd shift knob for christmas heh) but what do you guys do about your shiftboots? My current one is already looking too big with the trd knob and with 60% less stick its gonna be insane.

While everyone else is at it, i JUST ordered my TRD quickshifter two nights ago and can't wait to get it. I got mine from here for like 174, shipped. I looked at the TWM but it looked like it only came with the steel shifter rod. The TRD one comes with the whole white plastic replacement and everything, and a leather wrapped shift knob. I only found the TWM for like 10 bucks cheaper so. There's also a how-do posted for the TRD one, and besides, it TRD!!! Nothing else is made better for our car, its like buying a stock part.

yeah the TWM is only the rod... the trd quickshifter actually raises the pivot point on the shifter... keeping the same length as the stock shifter but allowing for shorter shifts.. IMO the TRD is far superior.

How does the 7th gen SS kit play into all this? I hear it works and its about $40 on eBay. How do those feel in comparison to the TWM and the TRD?

correct.

the TRD is a quick shifter. It comes with the entire shifter assembly and is not too much lower than stock but does have a shorter throw (40%)

the TWM SS is just the shifter rod shaft, which replaces the stock rod and the throw is shorter (60%) than stock and sits lower.

the 7th gen SS is very similar to the TWM and is much cheaper. It sits just as low and the throw is short.

I have tried all 3. IMO the 7th gen one has the shortest throw. More info on it in the interior sticky.
