are there any problems swapping a 94-95 7afe into a 96-99 celica using the 96-99 ecu/harness and all related parts...basicly i'm wondering if the OBD-I has the same sensors/connections as the OBD-II??

first there is the 94-95 and 96-97, there are no 98+ 7afes in Celicas (edit: in the US). There are differences in the OBD I and II.

I do not know a lot about swapping the 7a to 7a, but I was involved in a swap of a 94 5s for a 98 5s. We put in the 98 motor and kept the 94 harness. The things we needed to swap from the 94 to the 98 motor (so all the harness plugs would match up perfect) were the distributor, the EGR, and one of the 02 sensors.

If I were to swap 7a to 7a, I would keep my existing harness and just swap the motors. I would assume there are differences in the EA1 plugs.

i believe the only difference u'll see are intake manifolds. use the old one and the sensors on there.. u know they were working prior to the install...
