yah i've have my 1.8L Corolla Header under my bed for about 4... 5 months now i had money then (prior to girlfriend) and i've been slowly collecting money to do it. fyi this is illegal to do, i've gone to many shops to get an estimate, turned away by 3 out of 5. because it eliminates the cattalitic converter.... hmmm yahh... :-/
-------------------- the 1/4 doesnt have patience for a ST.... so we make them ST-T's so atleast we'll sound good going slow.

this defenitly shouldn't eliminate the cat......
UNLESS......your obd1 with 2 cats.....manifold cat and under car cat... even with just your under car cat you should be fine |

If replacing the stock manifold with a tubular header eliminates the cat, then just install a second cat under the body. All Celicas, whether they had one cat (by the manifold) or two (manifold and underbody) had a resonator. You can replace that resonator -- use a catalytic converter with a resonated core like the Car Sound 9440x series, and you get to keep sound suppression and clean emissions, without having to rebuild a large portion of your exhaust.

i would like to know your reasoning for this statement... if its because you've read NIK, myself, fallen and a few other members talking about a B16 TURBO manifold then you need to realize an N/A HEADER is different from a TURBO MANIFOLD... a B16 header will not work.... also why get a honda header and spend more to modify and make it fit then to buy one that is built for the motor and get an adapter? |
