get one of these manual boost controllers. If you have checked all the connections and everything is tight and the hole is caped off its got to be the wastegate so get on ebay or borrow one from a friend. And keep me up dated

found out the problem was my wastegate. i put a clamp on the vacume line to the waste gate and now am boosting at a whoppin 3PSI!! lol all i need i think is a manual boost controller and ill b set.

yep wink.gif

now the only problem is the intercooler piping. the clamps keep comming loose from the boost and the rubber piece that connects the turbo to the 1st part of the intercooler piping keeps coming off and its a pain in the A$$ to get to.

the one right below the turbo is a pain to get but once you do clamp it tight on one of the 14 psi runs i blew the bottom pipe apart i just got in there clamped it down real tight and never had a problem again atleast you finally got some boost though now like i've told you a few hundred times already recheck all connection and make sure there tight and have fun boosting and get her redynoed biggrin.gif

its not really a matter of how much boost you run. my cheap clamps let go on me in the middle of the highway, last year. i had to pull over, and try to couple them together right next to a hot downpipe with limited space to work...not fun.  get the tbolts as soon as u can. ive had mine for over a year and they never let go.

hmm yah i know the feeling of that hot downpipe on my arms very well... lol

bboy

ok, so i tightened ALL the clamps with a wrench instead of a screw driver and they arnt coming off. i found out the problem with the waste gate. because it was all ways ran off a manual controller the waste gate was jammed with dirt and stuff so i cleaned it up and sprayed some WD 40 in theirand it works fine. i bought a new boost guage cuz i broke the old 1 and when i hit 5 PSI and let off a TON!! of white smoke comes out. 4PSI nuttin... but at 5+ PSI i dn whats goin on. i have around 86K on my car but if u think about it for a 10year old car thats not much so i dn whats goin on. any suggestions??

Thats what i thought but usually when u blow a head gasket ur oil comes out all creamy and looks tan. i checked my oil and its not that so head gasket might b out of the question. iam not sure tho so iam goin to buy a metal gasket and see if that works.

there is alot of work invalved in replacing a head gasket if you do it yourself make marks on your timing belt and gears so you can reinstall everything correct

Edit: if you have a chilton book this is a good time to use it and make sure you buy a good headgasket

what condition is your turbo in? make sure it is in good condition and a metal HG will be a good idea anyways.

The turbo is in perfect shape because i got it fully rebuilt and port n polished less then a month ago. i drove it around to day and in the morning it was smokin like crazy but after a while it stoped and hasnt smoked in hours. only a lil bit of smoke is coming out from under the turbo now so iama go take a look at that n change my oil real quick too.

Also, a blown head gasket can have a variety of symptoms, including: water leaking into the combustion chamber (sounds like you have this which is why it kind of goes away after a while and is worst when you first start it up), air leaking into the coolant, air leaking into your oil, oil leaking into your coolant, coolant leaking into your oil, oil leaking out of the engine (external head gasket leak), water leaking out of the engine (ditto), and oil leaking into the combustion chamber. You could have just one or more of those symptoms.
