Ok, so i HAVE to change my seats in the celica soon. My frames are all bent and broken. My friend whos a mechanic told me that if i wanna pass a safety inspection soon, i gotta change thouse seats. So i went searching around for a pair of seat, any kind. So i found a place thats about 15 min from my place that has a bunch of recaro sport seats out of JDM integra Type-Rs and Civic Type-R's. These seats are mint and cheap too for a pair of brand name reclinables ($900 a pair). But heres my delema. Its the same thing that happened with my 7th gen seats. No one wanted to modify my brackets or make brackets to fit the seats. So heres my question. some one told me awhile back that recaro makes a bracket for our car. But when i checked their website there was nothing for ours, only 00-+. So heres my questions, 1. does any one have the part # for the recaro brackets, passanger and driver side for our car?? 2. Would sparco mounts work?? i know for momo seats, sparco mounts work. 3. Is there any other car thats like ours that the mount would work? besides 7th gens?? like a MR2 or something like that??.

I gotta change my seats, and these are the cheapest ones i can find that are a good seat and are DOT approved. My dad wants me 2 get thouse hudge crappy APC ones, but i know 95% of the people in this area wont even touch em. I would rather buy a pre made mount from a company like sparco or recaro or corbeu. So if any one could help. That would be great. Thanks

Bryan

what I would suggest if you want some comfy seats is to look for a wrecked Prelude 92-96 style. The seats in those cars (at least the leather ones) are designed by Recaro and are extremely comfortable and well designed. I think you could buy seats and mounts from a wrecked one and fit it into the Celica. (These seats were the one thing about my 95 Prelude that I actually did like)

so does JRP, but i talked to JRP a few days ago n they said that Sparco mounts will work for momo seats, sparco seats and some knock off's. But the guy i talked to, carson, said that he didnt think sparco mounts would work for recaro and that recaro's mounts are indiviual. Im gonna take some messurements from these recaros and check the distance from the mounting points on a sparco. Or im gonna see if i the dimentions are close to the original mounts on my seat.

I know they make rail for Recaro SR3 for our cars, but they are in Japan.
Saw an ad for it on Yahoo Auctions.
But it was only for the driver's side.
If you can find someone who can import it cheap it would be
good, I think it started bidding at 5000 Yens.

you can try to weld the sparco bracked to the Recaro seats. I can probably get you access to a mig.

already got access, but the recaro is about 2 inches narrower and about 4 inches shorter. But the metal brackets on the recaro are wrapped by the material.
