Has anyone here changed to individual throttle bodies on their celi? From the members pages it looks like fallenhero is planning on it ( or has already)
I thought about it for the future (but just don't know) Anyone have any ideas what kind of hp gains could come from this? -------------------- CLOSED on 25 acres! -shop coming soon.... |

I have them stock on my 4A-GE.
I plan on running open velocity stacks once I convert to Megasquirt...that should be cool. -------------------- New Toyota project coming soon...

if i knew where to get these in the first place, i'd probably get a set myself! i'm almost sure that they don't have these for our celica's (7afe and 5sfe) but they DO have them for 4age and 3sge engines. i wonder if they are straight bolt-ons?
i don't think that they'd be good for daily driving, dirt and moisture can enter the individual throttle bodies and can kill the engine. i've seen some cloth filters that people put on but really won't filter the air intake well enough. here's a link to where you get the 4age quad throttle body http://www.tweakit.net/shop/product_info.p...products_id=112 -------------------- -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |

I seen this focus that had dual throttle bodies and had built a custom intake for it that covered the throttle bodies and they were able to use a filter.
How is yours set up coom? -------------------- CLOSED on 25 acres! -shop coming soon.... |

Just be creative. I could build a fully functional bolt on 7afe ITB kit (provided I had the money) in about a week. And personally, I'd not use 4ag throttles. There are aspects about them that can be more troublesome than good for custom built applications.

just for example if you do run ITB on a 7afe, 5sfe.. or anyother car dont you need a fuel controller.. like the Apexi Safc, or the Greddy E-mangment... to controll the air flow...and fuel...????

in a word, yes. But ITB's on a stock engine like the 7afe won't provide that much more power. They are for engines with high RPM power... not toyota F- econo heads.

i always wanted to put a shaker hood scoop connected to the ITB, that way the engine can get cold air with out the extra long intake hose.

hood with scoop then pop hood Basically, the scoop is on the engine, not the hood. I, personally, have other just as fun plans. |

Ah cool...I'm contemplating going with some sort of a scoop on the hood itself when I eventually get open velocity stacks, but I'm not sure.

I have this idea. I figured if I had a piece of carbon fiber or fiber glass under the left front fender where the resonator was I can vector the air into the tube that goes to the air box and make a semi force fed cold air deal. At the air box I wanna make a custom box that allows me to use a CAI filter with the tube shooting like into the side of it to eliminate the nasty edi's and such of the stock airbox. Also wanna re-route the second section of the intake tube to the other side of the filter. That way you have air comming in at 2 points. Sorta in the beta in my head stage for the moment. Will have drawing soon but engeering classes are killing me.
