So it looks like Hurricane Rita is headed right for me and my parents and I were planning out some stuff and they brought up the cars. So since they owe money of their cars and mine is 11 years old, the Celica will get left out to fend for itself in the storm. I know the storm is still out by Florida and like 4 days out so it could go anywhere, but I still don't like it. This could be bad...

You want power but have no money. That's a problem.

Cheap. Reliable. Fast. Pick two.

Have any parking garages around you? I wouldnt think anything would hurt it if it was in a parking garage on the 3rd floor or so. My car was in the driveway during Katrina and a 12 foot tree limb fell 3 feet from my car. I heard the noise and ran outside, i was so relieved to see it on the concrete and not on my car.

I left my car behind for Dennis, and I was living in Destin FL. I hated to do it, expecially when I saw the weather channel reporting from down the street. There were all these car ports to park in, but I parked out in the open, right next to a big SUV (I guess they are good for something). The car ports all got trashed, and the SUV blocked the wind and prevented my car from getting any damage.

One time when I was moving some of my stuff out of a storage place, a guy walked up, opened the door of his storage unit, got in and a car started. This guy has a storage unit to park his car for security I guess. I don't suppose it would do much for flooding but it would be a bit more protected than the driveway. Just a thought but that is my two cents.

Save yourself and not your car, but if you can't save your car and not yourself.

your car can be replaced, easily. look at all the 6gc's for sale on here... don't worry about the car, as long as you're okay, we'll all be happy.
