ok so my 3sgte swap is SO close to being finished. i just need to know what a few wires are for. sorry for the bad pics, all i had was my phone.
this first one is back next to the firewall, it comes out of a large bundle of wires behind the TB... these 2 wires are right by the alternator. i think they're for the AC (wich i wont have) so i might not have to worry about these and finally, what is this hole for? it looks like a sensor should be in there, but i dont know... i'd really appreciate any help. its gonna be pretty much finished today other than these few things and maybe the power steering. Thanks! |

That first one looks, like the one that goes into the tranny. It signals your car lights to turn on and indicate that your reversing. I dunno about the 3rd one tho. It looks odd.

your missing a sensor in the last one. i forget what that one is for, but it has the wiring connected directly to it, and often gets damaged on a lot of 3s motors.
in the 2nd pic... there is a temp sensor for the 3sgte radiator that we dont plug in. also the ac plug would be on that side too as well as the exhaust temp sensor plug that goes into the stock downpipe This post has been edited by lagos: Sep 20, 2005 - 7:18 PM -------------------- 15PSI - 30MPG - Megasquirt Tuned

I could help you more with another pic. DEF -------------------- I will return one day. |

im guessing here....but i think its for your coolant temp gauge
the 2 other sensors in that area are coolant temp sensor (green, very important) and cold start injector time sensor (gray plug). so you can rule those 2 out -------------------- 15PSI - 30MPG - Megasquirt Tuned

Thanks! With the first one, that could be for a VSV. Get a pic with a wider angle, showing the color of the wires. The second one is very out of focus and again doesn't show the wire colors. Probably they are for the a/c, like you said. That hole normally has a plug in it on the 3S, you can take the plug out and put your radiator fan switch from your old engine in there (since on the GT4 the fan switch is on the bottom of the radiator). Now go get some better pics! k i went and got some new pics, but they didnt turn out any better than the ones i had before, but if the color of the wires helps at all, i got those.
the one in the first pic above has a brown wire, and a yellow wire there is another wire that i dont have a pic of, and it has a blue connector on the end. it comes out behind the TB like the first one, but its on the other side. the wires in the 2nd pic: th one with the light connector has a black wire with a yellow stripe, and the dark connector, if i remember correctly, is just a black wire. i hope that helps. if all goes well, they're gonna try and start it up tonight |
