If the car dosn't (or barely) move and I turn the wheel (ie: parking), i hear a cracking noise frome left front wheel. I also hear the noise if the wheel is stressed (ie: bump).
I first though about dead ball joints (same noise) but I had the wheel checked by 2 mechanics and everything seemed to be fine... any ideas?

Have you checked your tie-rods? It sounds like they are going.

i hear the EXACT same thing on my car from my left front wheel and ive been trying to figure out what it is. nothing appears wrong when i get under and look. i only hear it when i turn sharply when im going slow, not on bumps. if you find out what it is, let me know please. its buggin the hell out of me.

I think Bigfoot is blurry, that's the problem. It's not the photographer's fault. Bigfoot is blurry. And that's extra scary to me, because there's a large, out-of-focus monster roaming the countryside.

same problem here, and its not cv joints
thats more of a knocking noise, and i already replaced both, and it still does it.
it fixed the knocking noise though. I have no idea what it is......

yea im still confused because my cv joints are in perfect condition confused.gif i dont think its a problem. o well i think its probably natural if it happening to several people, because i never even noticed it until i turned my music all the way down and am listening for it. id still like to know what exactly it is.

It might be your wheel bearing. Mine went out last weekend and it made some funny noises.

I get a clunking noise when I turn the wheel sharply in the parking lot. The mechanic I took it to said the strut mounts were a little worn and that was what was making the noise. Don't know really.
