I think Bigfoot is blurry, that's the problem. It's not the photographer's fault. Bigfoot is blurry. And that's extra scary to me, because there's a large, out-of-focus monster roaming the countryside.

huh?? no engine is the engine doesn't make a car FWD /RWD / AWD ... that the drive train that does that... and engine is and engine .. it just supplies the power to move the wheels... the way its mounted in car with the tranny is what makes it rwd or fwd or awd... the black top 3sge can be drop into a fwd celi just as easy at any other S block ..

Ever bothered taking a look at the intake and exhaust manifolds of a Blacktop 3S-GE? Also the Altezza engines sit straight in the engine bay while the Celica/MR2 engines sit tilted.

One would likely have to use the redtop intake and exhaust manifolds. As long as the block bolts up the the tranny, it will be held at the correct angle... assuming that the oiling system is okay with that.

I think he should save himself some trouble by putting in a Redtop instead.

Yes, as I noted in the other thread, I've seen a 3S-GZE. It went well.

I'm not stomping on his dream. He can still do it, it's possible. But I think he would be better off with a Redtop BEAMS 3S-GE. Think about it like this:

1. He gets a Blacktop BEAMS 3S-GE
2. Has to change out the intake and exhaust manifolds and might have some oil issues. Also the wiring is going to be more of a pain in the ass because the wiring is for a Altezza.
3. Then needs to install the S/C.

Now if he gets a Redtop 3S-GE:
1. Gets the engine
2. Doesn't need to change out the intake and exhaust manifolds because they're already meant for FWD application. And since the Redtop 3S-GE came in a Celica, the wiring wouldn't be much of a hassle compared to a Blacktop.
3. Then install the S/C.

What I want to know is, why the Blacktop? What is so wrong with the Redtop? Is it just because the Blacktop has Dual VVT-i? Or is it because it makes 10 more PS? Explain that please.

I've swaped a 3th gen. 3SGE in my celica (7afe engine)
For those who wanted to know, it isn't hard to do!

As for that, the next step is to put a turbo or a supercharger on it!
(and yes i can by a GT4 here in europe!)

But i want to have something that others don't have!

So all the information that others have about it, please post it!

I will post some pics when i'm home!

The only mount that was the same (7afe) is the front mount!
I've changed all the rest!

Usefull: I had an accident celica with the 3sge engine in at home, so the parts to do the swap where all there!
