Does anybody know what that red button on an automatic transmission is? It is a little red square button next to the P R N D 2 L Shifter ?

I cant remember what its called, but my supra had that button, its called like EDC or somethin n what it does is it programs the comp to change all your shift points to 6000RPM, or at least it did in the supra, so you wouldnt have to downshift, plus with an auto supra it makes it very easy to spin the tires and take it sideways.

ECT

creates a more agressive shift pattern for the transmission.

If you see a oil slick shoot out from the back, or missles poping out from the hood, you pushed the wrong button.

Nice... as far as I know USDM's dont have those. I had an overdrive button on my 94 ST, when you pressed it an "OD off" light lights up on the dash. That button was on the shifter itself on the side.

There are 3 buttons

red one - To change the gears when your car is off
Pwr button - Activates ECT-S pwr mode which I believe just causes your car to shift later at a higher rpm
Manu - This one locks the gear, have not tried it myself. I think you use this if you want to keep your car in first gear or something

argh, your car actually has 4 speeds or for some.
Pressing this O/D button, makes it so that you actually have only 3 speeds.
U got
L
2
and D

if on D = 3rd gear
if off then D = 4 gear
biggrin.gif
L = 1 gear
2 = 2 gear
D with O/D on = 3 gear
D with O/D off = 4 gear

ECT is for power. It consumes more fuel, but at same time more POWER!

Heres a bad combo. ECT on with O/D off! Expect your timing belt to break, and your water pump to cease function if there still OEM.
