I'm at work right now and my friend's been talking about turbocharging his little D16 Si. It's one of those 92-95 ones. Anyway, I always mess with him talking about rice this rice that. He was basically just for sho until today. Wow. I want a turbo now! It's a hell of an experience. Maybe it's because I didn't grow up with friends that have supercars and turbo cars, etc. I mean, the fastest I've been in any car was an old Porsche 944(145MPH), and I recently learned to drive manual. So this stuff is all amazing to me. So yeah, it's a D16(Beats me by 2-3 cars stock against the Celi.) Wow, that turbo is crazy. Everything was Greddy. That thing flies. It sounds like the green Eclipse from F&F when it arrives at the stadium. It pushes you back, it feels like someone's punching you in the stomache when you shift gears. And he's only boosting 4 lbs. The BOV was Greddy something and it sounds a lot like Doggy's old Celi(Sorry Romas, didn't mean to compare you to a Civic). Yours was still nicer! But yeah, I'm very excited. Wooo! Can't wait to get my turbo!!!

Turbo is insanely fun. Just wait until you DRIVE your first turbo car....mine was a 3000GT VR-4 Twin Turbo with downpipes, intake, 3.5" dual exhaust, boost gauge and other toys. Just way to much fun.

I dont think my life will ever be the same after riding in a turbo GT (manny),
swapped celica (defgeph), and driving my friends VR-4....thats why I'm determined to swap mine. wink.gif

^yea man, i remember seeing your car on ebay. im glad you got it. hows the swap going? you corrected the errors and finished it already? maybe they are related. that means i get to borrow the 3s. lol. haha. im kidding. it depends. i can get the 4agze clip for $1000 and free labor. get a real cheap 7a and a tranny swap and turbo that which total would come out to maybe $2,500-$3,000. or the 3sgte with labor included for like $5,000... so most likely it'll be the 4agze but most likely end up turboing that. twin charging would be awesome but i dont wanna go that crazy with the car. we'll see. i'll be making a decision very soon. i hope. lol.

the second stick shift car i drove was a 300zx twin turbo. i think it was a 93... i only drove it on first and second around my neighborhood but i was afraid i would mess it up and my friend(the owner) was with me. so im pretty sure i didnt even hit boost because i shifted at low rpms. srry, i was learning at the time. lol.

First time I rode in one scared the ****s out of me. It was a supra Mk3 with a heavly modified 7mgte with forged pistons, and all the works on the engine itself and even cage roll bars
This was a drag car, used for daily driving! biggrin.gif
My uncle took off with the rear spinning like crazy! You could feel the G's pushing against you and with the rear of the car swaying left and right. I thought I was gonna die! On the Qt Mile his car did 11 Sec. This was one hell of a fast car, too bad he only sold it for 8K.

I haven't yet got to drive a turbo car. But hopefully I might be purchasing one in the near future. I got to ride in an 80's Plymouth Conquest (Mitsubishi Starion) and it was funny to watch the digital guage jump from 30, 60, 85, 110. I might buy an EVO somewhere down the line, so I might be test driving one later this week.

I dunno...I've driven a few turbocharged cars, and although they all would smoke my car, there's something magical about revving to 8,000 RPM and the accompanying high-RPM power and incredible throttle response. smile.gif

But yes, turbocharged cars are very sweet. biggrin.gif

First turbo car I drove is the WRX I bought. The only thing that make either the Civic or the Celi close to as fun to drive are the sound systems, not to mention the Civic is decently quick. BUT, no where near as fun to drive around town as the rex. Mmmmm, I may go drive it right now.

i disagree. after you own a turbo vehicle and mess with it enough, you learn to respect NA speed and power much much more.

i respect the turbo because it gives me a sudden rush of power, throws me back in my seat, and puts a smile on my face. smile.gif my na motor didnt do that.

I would agree with you coomer. The 20V is a spectacular engine that holds many mysteries (none) and potential(somewhat).

first turbo car i drove was my second car that i owned, 1990 mazda mx-6 gt. it was a fun little car. learned a lot about turbo charged motors also, i was pretty rough on the motor, not letting it cool down before turning it off, no turbo timer, starting it up and pushing it hard before letting it warm up... same kind of things my friend is doing to his 90 eclipse gsx. killing the motor. but when i swap my 3s it will be a completely different story. im going to baby her. dont get me wrong, i'll pull her hair every once in a while ;-) but im not going to beat on her like i would a red headed step child.
