What width rims will fit on a 6th gen GT without suspension mods?

my rims are 8.0 inches wide and it looks really nice on my profile. I have Centerline 17 inch rims. I can't remember what model though. They are 7 spoke rims and silver in color, actually they call it gunmetal. They are pretty nice but tires are expensive. I wouldn't go any wider that 8 inches. Most rims are between 7 and 8 inches wide anyways. Some people might tell you that the wider you go the harder it is gonna be to turn but I don't think an inch wider would really matter. Plus, these celicas handle great anyway.

I have some 17x7 excel TZ-7's rims. Its what you want. Oh and I found that alot guys I know, that have celicas, have 7 spoke type rims. Even some people on this site. I wonder if that is a favorite amongst the 6th gen.

i got 8 1/2's on mine and mine hit the spring mount on the strut so 8" is the widest u can go without modifying the suspension.......i have to modify mine...
