We just got cable for our house at school and are just using a wireless router... but the cable sucks because theres a million splitters for the house, so its hard to get a real solid connections, and some of the tvs are a little fuzzy. I like dsl back home alot better.

I think Bigfoot is blurry, that's the problem. It's not the photographer's fault. Bigfoot is blurry. And that's extra scary to me, because there's a large, out-of-focus monster roaming the countryside.

I've got adelfia cable internet. It is really freaking fast, but the customer service sucks something horrable. Billing just keeps coming up with new stuff all the time. If I can figure out satilite, I'll probably try it insted.

I have Earthlink Dial-up! I'm not even cool enough to connect at 56K... try 28.8Kbps... blazing fast guys!! I can't get cable or DSL because I'm out in the boonies as well, but when I move out I am going to get DSL with a wireless connection from my laptop.

if your complaining about bad service from cable and high costs try 800$ setup fee and 70-80/mo$ for 20-50k/sec download 6-10k/sec upload with a HORRIBLE games lag.... satellite sucks i went back to dial up from sat. bitch at em enough till they gave my money back after 2 weeks and they tried to convince me to keep it and work the "bugs" out the bugs were the service sucks!!!!

I have Verizon Online DSL, but here's a bit about my home network I put in:

Modem and Router hidden in a closet, with dedicated power and phone outlets. CAT5 cable through the walls, terminating in dataports in 2 bedrooms, with Wi-Fi throughout the house.

but with dsl you have to go for a whole year contract. and the $14 dsl you need to have an expencive phone line ($30).

I'm running a business DSL line (only because most of the area population got suckered into a contract), but my employees have Cable and it's twice as fast. It all depends on the provider, Time Warner just sucked here about 2 years ago, but for some reason Alltel decided to pick up a bunch of idiots from off the street and call them techs, i've spent 3 times as much time fixing Alltel screw ups than cable, then there is the actual service where Alltel just gave up.
