ugh, nailed a BIG raccoon tonight. I was driving home from my exgirlfriends house (yes we broke up, again, for those of you following my life), when out of the corner of my eye I saw a huge raccoon. I was like, wow he's big. Then I was like, wow, im about to hit him. Then I was like, wow, that was a huge thump and a horrible sound. I decided not to get out because im a big pussy and cornfields at 3AM scare me. So I get home, pull in the garage, get out, check my bumper, paints missing, its cracked, the damn thing tore through my mesh grill, busted my front neon real bad, and put a big dent in my radiator. My radiator is now leaking and white gas is coming out from the front that makes me feel really dizzy and stuff. It doesn't smell too good either. So...is it safe to start the car? Or drive it anywhere? It's my only vehicle.

Man, this guy was huge, really, it could eat cattle, I swear to god...Sort of sucks. More money to spend that I don't have.

Thats bad man, sorry about the car and your girl frown.gif
I dont think its safe to drive it with the radiator leaking,
your engine could over heat and cause bigger problems.
The gas that is leaking is probably your air cond gas.
Hope you fix her soon.

You should be able to drive her just do it very slowly don't push it hard. Watch your tempature if it even seems to get a big high take the car off the road and stop tell she cools down. Also if you got power steering if you feel your steering go out pull over and call for a tow thats as far as your gonna go Id suppose.

Just my 2 sense, I invested into a Transmission cooler so now my engine becomes cooler and my tranny is cooler and will last longer biggrin.gif

EDIT: Btw I feel worse for the car. Poor little celica. ****ing raccon deserves what he got.

IDK, if I were you I would order a radiator or source one at a yard before going anywhere. Maybe try and get one today so you can work on it over the weekend. Ask a family member or friend if you can borrow their car in the meantime. You will need a new radiator for sure. Then get some of the Prestone universal yellow antifreeze at Adavance Auto Parts or Autozone or wherever.

That would REALLY suck if your AC system is messed up. That could cost 500-1000 dollars. Unless you have Full Coverage or were planning on removing the AC smile.gif

Sorry man, tough luck!

Hold up. It is the a/c condenser that is busted. All he needs to do is replace it and recharge the system with 134a. Pretty easy if you can DIY. Radiator shouldn't be terrible either same deal DIY and refill. The body stuff I have no idea. And this morning I ran over and already ran over skunk so I guess the animal world has a depression issue and is throwing itself in front of 6th gens.

but a refil costs a bit of money. Freon can get pricey real quick.

what's sad, is the exact same thing happened to me last night too lol. Out driving in the middle of nowhere and THUMP, biggest racoon i've ever seen and of course it had to be in front of my car as i was doin like 80. i haven't looked closely at the car bc of work and all i haven't really had a chance but i think he messed up the bottom of my bumper pretty good and broke loose part of my wheel-well cover by my intake.

I seem to hit animals every weekend that I drive into the city and then come back out into the country and theres always something running across the road. Squirls, rabbits, raccoons, a frog once and last weekend unfortunately someones cat. I actually tried to avoid the cat locked up the brakes went side ways he went in the middle of the car but since I slid the back tires got it.

Haha, yes

I saw 'Signs' (the movie) then went back to my home (lower delaware), and apparently something happened and all the power was out in my town. So i'm driving by all these fuggin corn fields in the pitch black. When i got to my house (also surrounded by corn fields) i turned my car alarm on (with me in it) and settled in for a nap to wait it out for sunlight...

Then my dad comes outside with a flashlight and ask me wtf i'm doing
