Is there a chance of screwing up the bolt even with the flared wrench? I wonder if there is a better way of doing this.

Kinda tempted to get the flare wrench and have another go.

There's always a chance of screwing things up, no matter what your doing to your car. Some people just can't work on things machanical. If you can't, have someone else do it. You just have to be honest with yourself on what you can do. Wiether that is knowing that something is easy and you can, or knowing it hard and you can't.

What I was trying to say is. Considering I have rounded the bolt a little since I slipped twice on it using a normal wrench, would the flare wrench still work fine? Not too familiar with one.

I am thinking the flare wrench would be fine but ah well, never know unless I try.thanks

Yeah you'll probably be okay if you can get a flare wrench on there. You must use a flare wrench because the metal is so soft.

even with the flare wrench mine slipped, probably rounded a bit too much before that.

Paid garage half an hour labour which included a test drive. problem solved.
