Allows more gas to reach the cylinders, and ultimately allow more gas to be ignited, which allows the engine to work harder, which in turn allows for greater HP, but its not going increase ur HP that significantly.

Oh ****, i completely overlooked the GS-R's mods. Oops, ok so, yea I still hold true with the RSX, but the GS-R is going to give you a run for your money as well.

The GSR has a chip in it, which is the good. I restate that I think the entire race will be close, but I still think the Celica will win.

hmmm this time I'll have to give the props to CELI ... there is still some lag on the turbo with Celi but not as much noticable, while GS-Rs v-tec doesn't really start screaming till like 5200rpms... without v-tec those cars are slow, since they got NO freaken torque... *I think that Celica should pull at least 1 car length by end of the 400m (1/4 mile) |

yeah, vtec makes for no low end torque. i cant stand the idea of not having power till 1/2 way to redline and even then the power isnt there till close to redline. i have been in my friends 94 gsr and it wouldnt really move until 40mph my neighbor has a 96 gsr and when i raced him a few days ago in my auto st with just an intake, i pulled ahead from the start and at about 30mph he passed me and by 60 he was 2 car lengths ahead until we hit 90mph. and as for the rsx-s, sure maybe car and driver's people can get 14.8's in it, but few people can drive that well. i went to the track today to watch the cars and hardly anyone there was a good driver, i saw a 6spd 2002 camaro z28 run a 16.1. that car is supposed to be in the low 14's. there was a modded celica gt-s that was in high 16's, bunch a 17 second crx's, 17 second integras. 2003 mustang cobra that ran a 15. a car is only as good as its driver lets it be. but then a saw a 70's bug that ran 10's all day long. also, generally when a NA engine is turboed, there is little lag in the system when the turbo is properly sized. the turbo in the burien kit is a good size and with an intercooler burien runs their celica at 12psi. a member of celica.net with a turboed 96 st beat a new celica gt-s while at 5 psi non intercooled, then when he got an intercooler he ran 10 then 12psi and the last week he had it turbo he ran 25psi. at around 7 psi i believe he said he was on par with mustang gt's my advice is to practice launching, it would be really bad to break the wheels loose and then have boost kick in. get sticky tires too dont under estimate the celica. 2.2L of displacement with a turbo and even before the turbo is spooled the engine makes as much if not more torque than the rsx-s and at a lower rpm. i would be more worried about the modded gs-r with the header, catback, and intake. as for its chip, im sure it does more than remove the rev limiter, besides, there is no way any sane person would rev their car to 10,000 rpm with out some serious mods or faith -------------------- 1994 Celica GT4 WRC Edition

The RSX (USDM) is the Integra (JDM). The Honda Intregra type-R (JDM) basically a type-R RSX is hailed as the fasted FF car from the factory (I'm talking the newest 2K3 models). It's much faster than the old one (Acura Integra Type-R)... and the Civic type-R, although much lighter, still isn't even up there. The new type-R Integra (RSX type-R) pushed over 200 hp off of a 2.0... making better torque than the old B18C5... In otherwords, the RSX-S will spank the GSR. Even a modestly modified GSR can probably be taken by a stock RSX-S (that'll be a driver's race). As for the celica... heh, it'll be a driver's race against even the GSR, but I think you'll take him. Against the RSX-S... hmm... you might lose. The 10 second Celica was an HKS project... and I don't think it was a unibody car, and it's definately not street-legal, so it doesn't count as the fastest FF car from the factory...;] |

actually that hks celica did 9 seconds and it is a real celica, they just added the stuff to it to make it a dragster. it has the same frame and i think body panels on it too -------------------- 1994 Celica GT4 WRC Edition

guess which is the fastest FF N/A production car (from the factory)
2003 Nissan Altima 3.5 (w/o option packages) *245 hp w/ front wheel drive and front engine Quarter Mile (1/4) in 14.6 STOCK.... that's for the N/A FF cars.... but if you want TURBO FF.... then I have to give props to Dodge SRT-4 *225 hp (almost as much wheel hp) Quarter Mile (1/4) in 14.1 STOCK...
