Ok heres my problem. I drive on the highway at speeds up to 60+. The engine is fine, but than after a bit it sounds like the timing belt is loose or something and the engine won't accelerate anymore. (It kinda feels like I got no power to the engine) Then I pull, over come to a stop and then in 1st gear accelerate again and it goes once more. what the heck is wrong with the engine? Could it be a transmission slip or something. I don't want to think that its the timing belt or the water pump. cause Im flat broke and don't want to fix those right now.

On the last removal of the CV axel, I only dumped in 2.5 qts of tranny fluid.
I think that should be full enough.

Any ideas what could be the cause?? confused.gif

Have you ever replaced your belt? If not, it could be warn enough that iuts doing that, and thats the case do it ASAP..

I really wish you had a better time with that thing. It makes me so nervous to swap an engine in my car. I have no idea what could be wrong, sorry.

its not the timing belt or waterpump that is causing the car to not want to accelerate.

It most likely will be a clogged fuel filter or bad spark plugs/wires.

try putting a can of fuel system treatment with a full tank of gas. See if that helps.

I dunno I figured it might also be that. However, Now that when I accelarate I can hear a buzzing/grinding noise coming from the right axel near the passenger. You can ususally hear it in 1-2 gear. after that it stops.

hmm a buzzzzz?

could it possible be a electrical buzz?

i think i know what symptom its showing. This buzz only shows up when your coming to a stop? and buzzes for 1-2 seconds after you come to a complete stop?

It could be the coil pack or something ignition related.
My older toyota does the same thing. But I'm not gonna fix something that is not broken.

nah, i meant that it sounds like its coming from the axel though and it only happens your slow starting out accelrating.

How do you guys tell your transmission is wearing out?

you sure its not just your clutch sliping? the tranny dosnt wear out, but the clutch disk does.
