Ive seen some people with the three gauges under the cd player, and was just wandering how the gauges were mounted.
Will you need the under-pocket kit ? and if not then how does your cd player stay in place.
What does that mount to ?
This is a project Ive had in mind for a while but cant quite figure it out.

p.s. i dont have the under-pocket....i have the old cd player under my new one, so right now it looks pretty gay. smile.gif

I think Bigfoot is blurry, that's the problem. It's not the photographer's fault. Bigfoot is blurry. And that's extra scary to me, because there's a large, out-of-focus monster roaming the countryside.

Technically, you don't have to have that old cd player or a pocket din for your top cd player or din to stay in place. Both the pocket and cd player are held by different bolts in the metal mounting frame.

NO you do not need an under pocket your radio stays in place just as it always does.....

go to BK, Mcdonalds, taco bell your favorite fastfood
take a tray home with you...
you are now holding your new gauge mounting plate...

Don't steal a fast food restaurant tray. I have an extra DIN size mounting bracket for sale. I just haven't bothered putting up a FS thread yet. Its black and holds three 52 mm guages in place. I would let it go for $20 shipped. I paid about $32.

i know your trying to do the right thing for your motor, but this is one of those times where you should just trust the guys who have had their swaps for a while and have done a ton of research into this.

lol your you can do it jg's way haha

but you don't have to fiberglass it unless you want to
but if your goin to fiberglass you might as well just fiberglass a 1 din area then mount the gauges straight into it that

but if you want a plate then you can epoxy it in if you'd like

Defi makes a DIN GUAGE with 3 Defi guages already in it that will take the place of your old deck, I'm planning on getting one soon.
