Uh oh! LOL

So you're saying that as soon as you turn the car to "on" the engine starts cranking?

no the key works normal. when it turn it that final turn to start, the starter kicks to start the motor and it just keeps going, key in the ingition or out.. i have to pull the battery for it to stop... im talking to dave about. should have it sorted out shortly.

Oh I know what the problem is, I did something similar once. Hit me up by email if you don't get it straightened out.

the starter is just bad, it keeps getting jammed. Replace it with a new one and you're good to go. That or have it rebuilt. It's not a big problem

please dont give bad advice. if the starter is cranking but wont stop than its still getting power when its not suposto.. a relay or crossed wire will be the cause. who ever heard or had a starter "jam" and a rebuild it simple copper contacts and some o-ring seals...

consynx: defgeph stopped up saturday and we hung out and looked over the car a little bit. im finishing up a few small things and hopefully DG is coming my way this weekend and can get me straight. we did have it running saturday for a few but only because i found some way to hot wire the car. feels good to know my brother and i are almost complete with a project.

Hummmm...... maybe my magic touch is slipping away? haha

I have to defend myself to 2 seconds....you guys did not have the harness in the car all the way! all plugs were not plugged in and things were not grounded as they should have been. This is a good lesson to future swappers. Hook everything up b4 getting too excited to try to start the car. You might have unwrapped my sweetly rewrapped harness for no good reason???

Anyway, I am thinking that the whole time you just had a broken wire going to the starter relay, possibly from shipping it. You never called me back to tell me if what i told you to try actually worked out for you.

I guess after doing over a dozen harnesses.... especially 3 harness in the same week when i worked on yours i was kinda harnessed out! The main thing is that everytime you call me i am answering the phone talking to you as long as it takes to track down the problem. What other company offers help at 11:45 PM? Why is it that you guys always call me so late anyway? It is much better to work on things in daylight.

Nobody is perfect all the time? You figure i spliced together over 300 wires that week i did your harness.... 1-2 wires wrong is pretty good odds out of over 300 wires ........ still over 99.3% correct. Who can say they took a test with over 300 questions and got a 100% on it? Not too many people right!

Sorry it happend to you but the other harnesses worked perfectly...you just happened to be the last harness of the 3 i did when i was passing out from putting in long hours of rewiring.

Hopefully everything is worked out now, cause i have not heard back from you and that is usually a good sign for me. The problem has been fixed and you dont need to call any longer?

Also....
Sorry to Consynx!!!! You came over to hang out for 2 hours and all i did was talk on the phone to Zipstrips the whole time. My bad....

DG

"dave forgot to connect a wire", you are right, just one wire can cause a swap not to work.
BUT...
you forgot to mention that i talked you through every little step on how to track down the problem to see what was going on. i was on the phone with you every day till we tracked down the missing wire (i felt like a swap hotline or something) ..... and i answered the phone every time you called me with other swap things you were not sure about also!

this is the cool thing about me doing harnesses for people....i talk you through everything untill you car is up and running!

That's probably why you're so highly recomended. If I wasn't doing it myself you'd be the first person I'd ask to do my harness for me. Keep up the good work.

yaeh man, u really did. thanks again.

i hope what i posted didnt sound like i was unhappy with you work, cause thats not the case at all. i was just trying to say that you forgot a wire that sends all the power to the coil and ignitor, and that might be zips issue too . my igintor harness plug also had a short in it (not at all your fauld), must have been and issue for the car back in japan . that was kind of what was messing me up the most, cause after i hooked up the one wire u forgot, it sill wouldnt run, then one day, like magic it came to life. i drove around with it like that for a few months and the problem came back.... had to go back and look through every wire to find out what was causing the issue... ended up replacing the ignitor harness plug and that fixed it. so maybe zip has something similar going on?

DG is a great guy to do anyones harness. he does a good job, and if there are any issues, hes always there to back u up till you get your car runnings.

i always send people your way when they tell me they are doing a swap. you get high recomendations from me dave!
