It's not the photographer's fault. Bigfoot is blurry. And that's extra scary to me, because there's a large, out-of-focus monster roaming the countryside. |

Why must you make me question the swap? I'd thought about the Supra for along time, but I got over it, and decided to go with the Celica. Now, I must question that again. One day, I will have money out the ying yang. And when that day comes, I'll pick what a want. I'll be making 120k, and Fiance will be making 190k. I just love those Supras, so dang common though.

Anyways if u can afford it get the supra instead. QUOTE(dustin15brown @ Oct 22, 2005 - 10:41 AM) NEVER had a supra in the tiny town of Greensburg, IN. I love supra's but 21-23 PSI...... hes not running 32psi everyday and a turbo that big isnt gonna stay out of boost on the freeway. capable of 32 but i bet hes running mid low 20s so he can keep out of boost cruising.

you got it backwords there bigger turbo is harder to spool in all conditions, it requires more load to make the turbo boost and no 3 liter engine is going to make 1200hp daily driven, unless the guy likes to fill up with c16 at around what, $10 a gallon? -------------------- 1994 Celica GT4 WRC Edition

you will never be in boost when you are cruizing. if you are going up a hill, yes(my car hits zero pressure going up a hill if i maintain speed) if you are accelerating, yes not if you are simply cruizing on a highway -------------------- 1994 Celica GT4 WRC Edition

keep out of boost while crusing. just because you have a 3s doesnt mean your a turbo expert. and i phrased it wrong when i said big turbo i meant a turbo capable of spooling 32psi within the 2jz's powerband is not going to stay out of high boost easy. and when i say out of boost 0-5psi doesnt count because you cant help that. and ive also driven many kinds of turboed cars. 16g DSM, t3/t4 DSM, greddy gt35r supra, yet to drive a 3s but it will have the same characteristics. dont be so judgemental guys its just a post no need for comments like...

celicast3sgte ... im not trying to be rude or a "turbo expert". just wanted to tell you that when your car is curising, you stay in vac, even if you have a big turbo, youll always be in vac when cruising. boost only builds when u want to go faster then the speed you are maintaining.

^^ I can't speak for every turbo car owner... but when I would cruise in the all trac I would tend to stay out of boost... I didn't wanna waste gas The ct26 turbo, which is stock on the 3sgte tends to spool up starting around 3800rpm. If I was just cruising, I could keep it under the spool point in order to stay out of boost... pressure is still building though and may cause the BOV to go off even though ur not boosting. heh... My fave thing to do would be to cruise next to some ricer just under boost or just starting to spool and then when they start to take off I'm already at boost and just fly by them oooooh I miss that sound *vroooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooom pssshhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!*

i can cruise at 6krpm if i wanted and it would still not make positive pressure the whole point is no matter what the application, no matter what the turbo, it will not, i repeat, it will not make boost while cruising and a supra that has a turbo that can push 32psi efficiently does not mean it will make 32psi just by driving the car. you have to press on the throttle. your right foot is what makes the car boost or not. full boost comes under full load, full load is when you floor it. -------------------- 1994 Celica GT4 WRC Edition
