Okay, so i just got my new baby, a 95gt convert. and im in need of an alarm. I already know that i should get a proximity alarm to prevent people from knifing the top. i have power everything and its an auto so id like to get keyless entry and remote start woulld be kinda nice but not necssicary (sp?).

what would you guys who have alarms recommend? im a pretty good wiring guru (rewired a carb'd engine to fuel injection, installed power door locks in my other car, rewired an entire car for a kick-ass stereo, etc) but alarms are new for me. i know installation is a big part and i dont mind spending a few days to hide it all and make it look invisible. i really wouldnt like to spend a fortune but i do want quality and reliability. i need a pager (why have an alarm if you dont know its going off?). what do the base alarms come with? would i have to buy extra stuff for proximity alarm, keyless entry, etc? WHERE would i buy all this? best prices are on the net and not my local car audio store right?

id just like to get info because if im going to spend a couple of hundred dollars on an alarm, then id like to get something thats worth it!

please provide make, model, avg. price, features it comes with and extra things i would need to buy for it to fulfill the needs mentioned above, and most important of all...opinions, lol!

sorry for the long post, but thanks in advance for all the help!

I would reccomend going to a local car stereo shop, they can answer questions like this and show you models and such.

I just picked up a Viper for my accord, ill grab the model number later. but 2 way, 8 Aux channels, then I got a whole bunch of other stuff. 4 poppers, 4 window modules, Prox sensor, remote trunk pop, remote start. basicly everything said and done came to about 500$ which I didnt figure was too bad. It will probley be at least a 3 day install for me but with less options mabey get in down to a weekend or a day at that.

clifford rsx3.5, viper 791xv or python 881xp are all nice, i plan on getting the python for 300 installed tomorrow since viper and clifford are more $$ because they popular, all have same features just different models. I also like the compustar 2wss-as, long range. all have lcd pagers and remote start.
