Check this website out:
http://www.theshadowlands.net/places/ There is some freaky stories on here. If you are into ghost stories (some with actual events that happened), then go here. I was reading a few, and can relate to a couple of them that have been said to me throughout the years. One example: Stull - Stull Cemetery and abandoned church- Update: The church has since been torn down - Stull is said to be one of the six gateways to hell. The devil had a child with a local witch. The witch was hung in a tree and the boy was killed. The tree that she was hung from fell over and opened a gateway to hell. Many stories say that a large group of people went out into the cemetery on Halloween and the next day they were found all slaughtered. Witnesses report a demon like creature watching them from the doorway of the abandoned church on the hill of the cemetery. Do not go in the cemetery. Many bad things could happen. That is Stull, Kansas (any other Kansan in here can venture for that story, if not that one, then I'm sure they've heard something about Stull) Here's another...I'm sure you all remember this story: Kansas City - Kansas City arena / Kemper Arena - There is said to be sightings, sounds, and lights flickering on and off in the arena late at night from a former WWF wrestler named Owen Hart who died 3 years ago by falling 50 feet to his death from the ceiling of the arena . There are also sightings of him still in his Owen Hart suit at the top of the arena looking down with the cable hooked up to him. Very entertaining to read, go check it out. -------------------- |

Ellensburg - Central Washington University - Kamola Hall - Kamola Hall is haunted by the ghost of a former student that committed suicide there when she found out that her fiancé had been killed during the war. She hung herself from the rafters of the top floor where her room was located. People have reported unusual noises and sightings over the years. Even today, some of the students residing in the building have reported strange occurrences such as doors opening and closing by themselves and doors being knocked on but nobody there. -------------------- Cruisin down the street in my Infiniti...always lookin for my next trip to Sin City

Hauntings in my town from that site:
Campbellsville - Campbellsville University - Fine Arts Building - The Fine Arts building was originally a Catholic Hospital. Some say they have heard babies crying where the nursery was, footsteps heard in the hall when no one was there and art students have witnessed pottery wheels beginning to spin by independently. There are also numerous cold spots through out the building. I was born in this hospital, I must be evil. Campbellsville - Hiestand House - This house is haunted by the Hiestand family. This is a historical site now. Not a bit scarey. Campbellsville - Spurlington tunnel - believed to be cursed. SpurlintonTunnel I've been all the way through this during the day, I won't be doing that at night. Campbellsville - Taylor County - M&R estates - In the civil war days the confederate soldiers took the war prisoners to this house for execution. They were murdered and hung in the barn behind the house. As the legend goes there are extreme temperature changes in the house, also the screams can be heard at night by people that walk down the road. On some occasions people have been known to see blood drip from the rafters of the old barn. The entire property is haunted and not many people dare to cross its boundaries if you do there is no telling what could happen. It seems as though people that go across its lines have been tortured in the future as in there dreams and everyday life. it will be a life changing experience. Nobody seems to even know where this is located at, I may have to check at the courthouse and do some exploring. And they left out one, a haunted house trailer which is almost directly across from my house. I know it's haunted I use to live in it. -------------------- |

ive been ghost hunting to many a places and have found jack shiat. Trinity Church in Brooklyn, CT, Spiders Gate Cemetary somewhere in MA, The Ladd School in Exeter, RI, and a bunch of others. The Ladd School didnt give anything to be haunted, but it was very cool to explore around... like 4 or 5 buildings of an abandoned mental institute... couldnt find the morgue that was supposed to be there though... it even has its own website www.theladdschool.com

Chillicothe - Crybaby's Tunnel - A mother and a newborn were crossing a bridge on a train track. While in the middle of the bridge, a train came which led the mother to toss the baby into the creek. The mother died along with the baby. At night you can see the mother's spirit and hear the baby crying.
Chillicothe - Elizabeth's grave - Elizabeth is said to have hanged herself from a tree in the cemetery. Her actual gravesite is at the very front of the graveyard, but her tombstone is always located at the rear of the cemetery. It is said that if you move the tombstone to it's original position it will move itself back to the place where she was believed to have died. Chillicothe - Majestic theater - Reports of hearing screams. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- i went to Elizabeths Grave with friends. we took my big truck(just in case). it was me, my friend Penrod and Tony in the bed and our girls in the cab. we got about 1/4 mile back to the cemetery and my lights SHUT OFF!! I freaked. I jumped out trying to get them to work and nothing. i told my GF to throw it in 4 wheel drive and turn around. when we got back on the main road, my lights came back on. WEIRD!! my house is haunted also. we get the occasional blinds opening, things falling off counters. in my room after midnight i get a feeling that someone is watching me. Our house was built back B4 the Vietnam war. the house was used for troops that came back injured. kind of like a hospital. Thats what we were told. -------------------- Jared Harwell

My school is cursed! The top floor on the libray on campus is said to be haunted by a dead old lady. I was just there this afternoon to check it out, and when I went up there it felt very nostalgic. It felt really freaky. Two of my friends who slept up there once said they saw her. One of them said that her eyes were dangling from the side and she wore a dress. The other said she sat on them, thats why he screamed while sleeping and someone heard him and had to wake him up! This is on the very top floor, where nobody usually goes. The basement is really creepy as well. They have an elevator that is ancient relic. Its one of those where you have to slide the door and you can see the jagged walls when your going up and down. I have yet to see her, but I will have to see if she really exist these days when I go up there and just sleep during the evening

Fire Island - Fire Island Lighthouse - The caretaker of this lighthouse hanged himself long before it was rebuilt. Doors shut, which require two people to close due to weight and doors open, which require three individuals. People have even reported strange laughing and knocking when no one is there. The top windows are also known to rise by themselves, which normally require a tool to reach. People experience chills throughout the lighthouse and human skulls seem to turn up on the beach with various other bones.
^ used to go on vacation here every year Highland falls - West Point USMA - Being that West Point is the oldest military post in the United States the area has it's fair share of "history". All you have to do is ask a Military Police officer or a cadet and you should get a good idea of where to look. I'll tell you what, this isn't for the faint of heart, you spend enough time here and you will see something. ^ I got a ticket her a month ago Lake George - Fort William Henery Museum - when visiting the basement part where the prisoners use to be in the jail a visitor heard crying and screaming of the men and there was no one there. ^ I was there when i was like 10 Patterson - Rt. 311- after a hotel burned down in the late 1800's, a family bought it a couple of years later and built a house on top of the old foundation. Now people say at night you can see the top half of the people that died in the fire because they are walking on the floor of the building that burned down. ^ aaaaaaaaaaaah Plattsburgh - Plattsburgh High School - It was said that a boy named David was killed on the front lawn of Plattsburgh High. And till this day he walks around during school and bumps into freshman and wonders the yard at night screaming pack another bowl. Plattsburgh - State University of New York - Plattsburgh - MacDonough Hall - - What is known to many people as "MacDonough Hall" was once the old morgue for the old Plattsburgh Hospital across the campus. Many students and faculty have seen apparitions and heard strange noises. ^ My old college-and MacDonough Hall is SCARY Poughkeepsie - Dutchess Community College - Bowne Hall - The college is built on the site of an old TB hospital. The main administration building, Bowne Hall, was one of the main hospital buildings. The basement of this building contained the hospitals morgue. Maintenance personnel have accounted strange happenings such as a 'weird presence'. ^ NICK AAAAAAAAAAAh Poughkeepsie - Marist College - As the story goes; Shelly was killed by a jealous boyfriend in the school's cafeteria. Since then, she has been a presence in Sheahan Hall, where she lived. Most of her activity involves folding clothes, opening/closing doors, screwing with televisions and occasional bumps in the night. She may also be linked to some strange occurrences at a grotto dedicated to those who died at Marist. ^ And thats my college now, nice. Wappinger Falls - Bowdoin Park/ old Haunted Mansion site - Believed to be haunted by Sigfried who was a prisoner of war in a war camp that was on that spot. He was put to work in the kitchen and killed himself by putting himself in the oven. There is also a tree just outside of the building that was used to hang Indians and you can feel them when you touch it. In the attic, which was used as a makeup room, people have seen a telescope floating as if someone is looking for ships. There are also other parts of the park that are haunted. ^ thats 20 min fromme nice park I <3 halloween -------------------- Buy my Celica $2,500 - http://www.6gc.net/forums/index.php?showtopic=76562&st=0

Theres a place here in toronto called high park, its pretty much a huge forest with lotsa hiking trails in it and other recreational stuff. anyways, there has been at least thousands of people who reported ghost activity there, but the most interesting thing has to be the legend of satans chair, supposedly theree is a park bench or something hidding deep in the park, and they say at night you can see satan himself sitting on it, the freaky part is a buddy of my was exploring through there for fun and actually saw a park bench placed in the middle of nowhere (in the forest). i just love hearing about things like this
Have any of you actually seen a ghost? -------------------- Go leafs go

This is real close to me. Theres also the place on 22 where the old mental health facility is. There are still electric chairs there which they used and I hear alot of creepy stuff. Its across the street from the golf course way down on 22. Then in CT my school (WCSU) supposedly has a haunted building which I have classes in and then by my Xs there is another supposedly really haunted place which was featured on that old MTV show about scary places, another place like the one on 22 but bigger and this one is guarded. Both arent in use tho. -------------------- |

Scotia - Scotia Inn - A small town in California named Scotia, there are a lot of hauntings. Particularly in the Scotia Inn. There are many sightings of many ghosts, but ask the front desk person for the most famous of them all, and you will get the answer..."Frank". Frank is on the top story in one room. There are many sounds, feet scraps, voices, ect. Frank is a friendly ghost, and some times will bounce a basket ball to you, if you bounce it to him.
That is the weirdest thing I saw on the site. They have actually seen a ghost bounce a basketball back... thats pretty crazy |
