is it grinding? Have you checked the shifter cables? Is the shifter assembely bolted down correctly? Is the noise in the tranny or is it in the shifting assembely?

see if the clutch it going out, then also see if the clutch has the same pressure it used to ( low fuild or air in the lines) then look into flushing tranny fluid with synthetic and if that wont fix it then you may have bad synchros. also a simple fix like he said check the shifter cables make sure nothing is obstructing it.

I had this problem on my 86 GT and now my 96st, The Nut on the bottom of the Knuckle came loose and is a loud clunking each time I shift because of shifting weight. Rip off the wheel and look under there and you can tell, if it is it I remember it being a 17mm and just crank on it.

My car does it too, but its coming from the downpipe from my swap. It looks like the downpipe is hitting against the car and the clearance is like a few CM apart.
Check that, It does it when idling as well, or when you shift car weights. |

i check the cables this morning as and far as i can tell they are tight, however i put the car of some ramps and got my brother to do the shifting while i was outside listening and it's definitely coming from the tranny. its not slippin, the feels preassure is the same and the fluid levels are fine. i"m thinkin to just gonna drive till something goes wrong.
